10. Licorice and Barley Jujube Porridge: 50 grams each of barley and japonica rice, 10 jujubes, and 15 grams of licorice. First, boil the licorice, remove the residue, then add the rice, barley and jujube and cook into porridge. Take twice a day on an empty stomach. It has the effects of invigorating qi, calming the mind, and beautifying the skin. It is suitable for women in menopause who are in a trance, often sad and want to cry, cannot control themselves, or suffer from insomnia and night sweats, have a red tongue with little coating, and a thin and rapid pulse.
