What causes lumps in women's breasts?

In recent years, the health of women's breasts has received attention from many countries, and it is believed that breasts need attention and care. If you feel a lump in your breast, do not seek medical treatment rashly. You should find out the cause immediately and then receive targeted treatment.

Fibrocystic breast disease accounts for more than 75% of all breast diseases and is the most common type of breast disease, occurring in women of any age after the onset of puberty. The clinical manifestations of this disease are basically breast lumps and breast pain. About 80% of patients have symptoms of breast pain, which is mostly bilateral but can also be unilateral. The nature of the pain is divided into distending pain, stabbing pain, shooting pain, dull pain or tenderness. The manifestation of breast pain is often unstable and may worsen before menstruation, and often worsen with mood changes, fatigue, and weather changes. Breast lumps are the main basis for diagnosing breast diseases. Most of them are multiple and the sizes of lumps vary. The texture is hard or tough, the lump is not adhered to the skin, the surface of the lump is often not smooth, and it feels granular to the touch. In addition to the above symptoms, some patients have systemic symptoms such as nipple itching, discharge, bitter taste in the mouth, rib distension, chest tightness, anorexia, and menstrual disorders.

1. Breast pain: general or bilateral breast distension, tingling or dull pain. The pain is so severe that you cannot touch or walk. The pain is mainly in the swelling of the breasts and can radiate to the armpits, chest, shoulders, back, and upper limbs. Some also present as nipple pain or itching. The pain fluctuates with the mood and menstrual cycle, often aggravated before menstruation or when you are angry or depressed. The pain is significantly reduced or disappears after menstruation.

2. Breast lumps: Single or multiple lumps in one or both breasts, mostly located on the outer and upper part of the breast, in the form of flakes, nodules, granules or cords, with flakes being more common. The lumps have unclear boundaries, are medium or slightly hard, are movable and have no adhesion to surrounding tissues, may be tender, and vary in size, ranging from as small as sand grains to larger than 3-4CM. Breast lumps increase in size before menstruation and decrease in size and soften after menstruation.

3. Associated symptoms: Patients often feel depressed or irritable, and may also experience dysmenorrhea, irregular menstruation, etc. A small number of patients have brown or yellowish liquid secreting from their nipples.
