Can a woman with a thin endometrium get pregnant?

The thickness of the endometrium is a criterion for detecting whether the uterus is healthy. Being too thick or too thin is not good. Experts say that under normal circumstances, if the endometrium does not reach 8 mm, it is considered to be thin, and it is easy to have adverse phenomena such as miscarriage after pregnancy, so active treatment must be carried out.

1. Can you get pregnant if your endometrium is thin?

A thin endometrium can make it difficult for a fertilized egg to survive, leading to infertility. But in fact, the thickness of the endometrium will change to a certain extent in different stages of a woman's menstruation, mainly due to the influence of hormone secretion during menstruation. If the endometrium is thin due to factors such as miscarriage, it will have a great impact on women's pregnancy.

The normal thickness of the endometrium is generally between 5 and 10 mm, and the thickness of the endometrium varies at different stages. Generally speaking, when women are under the influence of a certain amount of estrogen, if the endometrium does not reach a thickness of 8 mm during ultrasound examination, it is judged to be thin.

If the thin endometrium is not caused by congenital thinness or miscarriage, then it should be endocrine disorder, and you can drink Chinese medicine to recuperate. If menstruation is always irregular, abnormal ovulation will also cause a thin endometrium. It is not easy for people with thin endometrium to get pregnant, but the chance is still very high.

2. What are the causes of thin endometrium?

The causes of thin endometrium are divided into systemic factors and local factors. Systemic factors include endocrine disorders, such as low estrogen levels, insufficient progesterone, ovulation disorders and growth hormone deficiency; local factors are mainly endometrial damage, adhesion and absence.

1. Severe endocrine disorders

The endometrium refers to the layer that makes up the inner wall of the mammalian uterus. It responds to both estrogen and progesterone, and therefore can undergo significant changes with the sexual cycle. Gynecological experts point out that estrogen can cause uterine hypertrophy, and progesterone can promote special changes in the endometrium in the early stages of pregnancy, or change the properties of the endometrium so that it has the ability to produce decidua. Therefore, severe endocrine disorders will lead to hormonal imbalance in the body, disrupt the cyclical changes of the endometrium, and cause thin endometrium.

Thin endometrium caused by simple endocrine factors can be clinically adjusted with hormones. Appropriate amounts of estrogen and progesterone can increase the thickness of the endometrium to a certain extent and improve the symptoms of thin endometrium.

2. Artificial abortion

Artificial abortion is the main factor causing thin endometrium. Experts point out that multiple medical abortions or excessive abortion movements may cause thin endometrium. Some patients even haven't had their periods after an abortion. This shows that abortion has seriously damaged the endometrium and caused a thin endometrium.

Gynecological experts point out that the thin endometrium caused by artificial abortion usually takes a long time to recover, and some patients may not even be able to recover. Therefore, experts especially remind patients that if menstruation does not come on time after an abortion, they must see a doctor for examination.

3. Uterine malformation

Acute uterine development is also a reason for thin endometrium, but it has been ignored for a long time. Clinically, some patients' uterine angiography is no longer an inverted pear shape, and is even long and thin. This thin endometrium caused by congenital malformation is generally difficult to treat clinically.
