Do uterine fibroids affect menstruation? Female friends, please understand clearly

Female friends should always pay attention to their own health, especially some gynecological diseases. The symptoms are not obvious in the early stages, so they are often ignored. For example, uterine fibroids can cause menstrual changes, so female friends need to be vigilant when menstruation is abnormal.

1. Common symptoms of uterine fibroids include: Menstrual changes: the most common symptom, manifested as shortened menstrual cycle, increased menstrual flow, prolonged menstrual period, irregular vaginal bleeding, etc.

2. Will uterine fibroids cause less menstrual flow?

Generally, there may be the following reasons for scanty menstruation: the most common one is endocrine reasons, such as abnormal secretion of various hormones or anovulation; in addition, it may be due to the endometrium itself, such as endometrial tuberculosis causing endometrial lesions or artificial abortion or curettage causing thin endometrium.

Generally speaking, light menstrual bleeding is due to low estrogen levels or uterine hypoplasia. Estrogen stimulates the thickening of the endometrium in preparation for conception. If conception does not occur, the proliferating endometrium will shed and bleed to form menstruation. Low estrogen levels in the body can cause the endometrium to not grow thick enough and result in less menstrual bleeding, which can affect conception in the future.

Uterine fibroids can cause scanty menstrual flow. Uterine fibroids do not directly cause a decrease in menstrual flow. However, uterine fibroids can cause menstrual disorders, shortened or prolonged menstrual periods, increased or decreased menstrual flow, abdominal pain, back pain, irregular uterine bleeding, etc. Sometimes irregular menstruation may be due to the influence of diet, mood, etc. Eat more lean meat, grains, and dark green leafy vegetables, and avoid eating too much raw or cold food. Keep a good mood and don't put too much pressure on yourself.

3. Uterine fibroids are a type of benign smooth muscle tumor and an estrogen-dependent tumor. They will grow gradually with sufficient estrogen levels and will cause symptoms such as increased menstrual flow, prolonged menstrual period, anemia, frequent urination, constipation, etc. In addition, they will also cause tremendous psychological pressure and affect physical and mental health. Therefore, it is the best policy to remove them when there are no symptoms or the tumor is still small, which is in line with the principle that prevention is better than cure.
