Can induced labor be performed if the placenta is low in the pregnancy?

Pregnancy is possible when the placenta is low, but you should be aware that whether you want to induce labor or how to effectively treat abnormal problems that arise during pregnancy, you should consult a professional doctor and follow the doctor's advice. You must not be blind, so as not to cause greater harm.

1. If the placenta is low, induced labor can be performed. It is recommended that female friends should follow the doctor's advice. If the doctor believes that your physical condition does not require induced labor and the baby can continue to be born, the mother can relax and take good care of the fetus. Pregnant mothers, please do not worry too much. Being too worried is actually bad for your baby and yourself.

2. Among some pregnant women with low-lying placenta, the lower segment of the uterus will lengthen as the gestational age increases, and the position of the placenta will rise, and the placenta will no longer be in a low-lying position. If there is no obvious discomfort before 28 weeks of pregnancy and the fetus is developing well, it is recommended to continue observation without treatment. If the placenta is still low-lying during B-ultrasound examination at 28 weeks of pregnancy, treatment is required.

3. Because a low-lying placenta is prone to prenatal bleeding, if the amount of bleeding is heavy, it may be complicated by premature birth, stillbirth, and intrauterine fetal death. You just need to pay attention to your daily health care to reduce the chance of complications. Pay attention to rest, avoid overwork, and do not use excessive force when changing body positions, including when defecating. Avoid constipation and sexual intercourse. Go to the hospital immediately if you notice bleeding.

Causes of low placenta

4. A low-lying placenta is mainly responsible for causing placental abruption. Because the placenta occupies half of the uterine wall during mid-pregnancy, there is a greater chance of monitoring or covering the internal cervical os, and half of the placentas will be located lower. After late pregnancy, the lower segment of the uterus forms and expands upward to become part of the uterine cavity, and most of the placenta moves upward to become a normal placenta. Therefore, it is not appropriate to diagnose placenta previa during mid-pregnancy.
