What are the consequences of uterine adhesions?

Uterine adhesions are the narrowing of the cervical canal, which may cause the uterine cavity to disappear. This disease must be treated promptly. If uterine adhesions are not treated, the consequences will be very serious. After uterine adhesions occur, women will not only suffer repeated miscarriages, but may also become infertile.

1. Female infertility: secondary infertility or recurrent miscarriage, premature birth. Due to intrauterine adhesion, the endometrium is damaged and the uterine volume is reduced, which affects the normal implantation of the embryo and leads to infertility. Even if conception occurs, it affects the embryo after implantation and the growth and development of the fetus, leading to miscarriage and premature birth.

2. Oligomenorrhea and amenorrhea: Uterine adhesions can lead to amenorrhea, accounting for about 60%-90% and lasting for a long time.

3. Cyclic abdominal pain: Sudden lower abdominal pain will occur one month after the operation, with a feeling of heaviness and distension in the anus, restlessness, and difficulty in movement. The pain will last for 3 to 7 days and will occur cyclically.

4. Adhesion of the internal os of the cervix and complete closure of the uterine cavity prevent sperm from completely entering the uterine cavity and ascending. Partial adhesion of the uterine cavity blocks the internal os of the fallopian tube, preventing sperm from entering the fallopian tube, both of which can cause infertility. Due to deformation of the uterine cavity, intrauterine fibrosis and other reasons, the fertilized egg may not be able to implant, or repeated miscarriages may occur, resulting in infertility.

5. Many women do not take cervical adhesions seriously, which leads to missing the best time for treatment, worsening of the disease, and even worse, infertility. Uterine adhesion is a common gynecological disease. Any factor that causes endometrial destruction can cause uterine cavity adhesion.
