How to supplement low hemoglobin in pregnant women

After a pregnant woman becomes pregnant, she must pay attention to active checkups to understand the development of the fetus at each stage. If some pregnant women find that their hemoglobin is low during examinations, they should pay attention to timely blood supplements and replenish enough iron to meet the body's iron needs.

1. If the hemoglobin level of an adult woman is lower than 110g/l, it is considered anemia. The normal hemoglobin value after pregnancy is between 110-160g/l, but it is usually lower than 110 for pregnant women because they may experience anemia symptoms due to pregnancy reactions or insufficient supplementation of divalent iron ions. If a pregnant woman shows symptoms such as pale complexion, blackouts, dizziness, etc., she should be alert, as these may be signs of anemia.

2. Most women do not store enough iron at the beginning of pregnancy to meet the body's increased iron needs. Especially in the second and third trimesters, anemia with low hemoglobin is likely to occur. The demand for iron during pregnancy is higher. If the pregnant woman's hemoglobin is lower than 100g/l, it indicates iron deficiency anemia and the iron intake needs to be increased. In terms of diet, you can eat foods rich in iron ions such as animal kidneys, pork liver, pig blood, lean meat, egg yolks, kelp, black sesame, sesame paste, black fungus, soybeans, mushrooms, etc.

3. Regardless of whether you are anemic or not during pregnancy, you must pay attention to iron supplementation. The absorption rate of iron in the diet is relatively low. In addition to increasing iron in food to improve anemia, you can consider iron supplementation. By taking Iron Edge tablets, which are commonly used by pregnant women with anemia, you can supplement iron, produce blood, and increase nutrition. After one month, hemoglobin will increase significantly and anemia will be relieved and improved.

4. Pregnant women with low hemoglobin need to eat more foods rich in high-quality protein, such as eggs, milk, fish, lean meat and other foods. They can also eat more foods rich in vitamin C, such as sour dates, apricots, oranges, hawthorns, tomatoes, bitter gourds, etc. This is mainly because vitamin C participates in hematopoiesis and promotes the absorption and utilization of iron ions.
