How is cervical cyst diagnosed? Just remember these methods

Some symptoms of cervical cysts are similar to those of other cervical diseases, so they are often misdiagnosed, which can seriously affect the treatment of the disease. So today we will introduce to you the correct method to diagnose cervical cysts.

1. Cervical smear examination: Under long-term inflammatory stimulation, a small number of patients with chronic cervicitis have a tendency to malignant transformation, so high attention is still needed. Therefore, patients with cervical cysts should undergo cervical smear tests every year to exclude cervical cancer and precancerous diseases.

2. Colposcopy: It is intuitive and can directly find the diseased area, diagnose whether there are abnormal lesions, and determine the severity of the lesions as a basis for treatment. A colposcope is a magnifying glass equipped with a powerful light source. Since it can magnify the lesions 10 to 40 times, it can observe minor lesions of the cervical epidermis that are invisible to the naked eye. With the aid of 3% to 5% acetic acid solution, it can distinguish whether the changes in cervical cells are benign or malignant. Biopsy under colposcope positioning can detect precancerous and cancerous changes early.

3. The combined examination of cervical smear and colposcopy can increase the probability of diagnosis and is an important measure for the early treatment of cervical diseases and other reproductive tract diseases.

4. Ultrasound examination: Cervical cyst is a common disease in gynecological ultrasound diagnosis. In recent years, with the development of ultrasonic diagnostic technology, the detection rate of cervical cysts has increased significantly. The detection rate of cervical cysts gradually increases with age, especially in people over 50 years old, the incidence rate increases significantly.

5. The cysts vary in size, but are generally small and scattered. It can appear alone or in multiples. It can occur in any part of the cervix. During gynecological examination, the speculum can only detect cysts located at the external os of the cervix, while B-ultrasound can display cysts in various parts of the cervix with a cyst detection rate of up to 100%. Therefore, B-ultrasound examination improves the clinical diagnosis rate and also provides convenience for clinical treatment.

6. TCT examination: It is the most advanced cytological examination technology for grading cervical lesions in the world. Compared with the traditional Papanicolaou staining examination, the specimen satisfaction and abnormal cervical cell detection rate can reach more than 95%.

7. HPV-DNA testing: HPV infection is a necessary factor for the development of cervical cancer. Colposcopy can show surface lesions, but they are often in the later stages.
