There are many reasons why women develop breast abscesses. Infection is the most important one. In addition, some other diseases can also cause breast abscesses. For example, mastitis and breast tumors can cause complications such as breast abscesses. 1. Old illness During the lactation period, if a female friend has suffered from breast inflammation, tumor compression, breast hyperplasia, etc., it may cause a lobular duct or lobe of the breast to be blocked, causing milk to accumulate in the duct and form a breast cyst. Secondly, it is also possible that due to incorrect breastfeeding habits and postures, milk may accumulate in the ducts, causing the ducts to dilate and thus form breast cysts. If bacteria invade, it will cause infection, leading to breast abscesses and acute mastitis. 2. Cyst If there is no bacterial invasion and no infection, the cyst will exist in the woman's breast for a long time. It is difficult for women who are breastfeeding to find lumps because of breast swelling, and most patients do not discover them until after weaning. At this time, the cyst is round or oval in shape, feels smooth on the surface and can be pushed. Most patients have unilateral or single cysts. If pressed gently, the patient will feel pain and it will feel cystic. 3. Breast abscess is common during lactation, and most of the time it is caused by milk accumulation. It can usually be prevented by keeping milk secretion unobstructed, and it generally will not recur after recovery. 4. Breast abscess is an acute suppurative infection of the breast, which is caused by bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus, etc.) invading the breast tissue through nipple fissures or milk duct openings. This disease is more common in primiparas and occurs in the 3rd to 4th week after delivery. Before the onset of the disease, there are often predisposing factors such as nipple fissures, nipple occult deformities, breast compression, and milk sweat accumulation. It is recommended to empty one side first and then the other side when breastfeeding. |
