What are the causes of multiple cervical cysts? Women should know

Multiple cervical cysts are a very common disease in gynecological clinics. The incidence rate is very high and the harm is great, so it is necessary to take it seriously and go to a regular hospital for testing and treatment. So first of all, people need to understand what multiple cervical cysts are?

1. Chronic inflammation and long-term stimulation: Female friends suffer from some chronic inflammation and do not receive timely treatment. After long-term stimulation, the cervical tissue will show congestion, edema, inflammatory cell infiltration and connective tissue hyperplasia, causing cervical hypertrophy and then cervical cysts.

2. Cysts are formed due to obstruction of the glandular duct opening: Cervical cysts do not exist independently, but are a manifestation of chronic cervicitis. During the healing process of inflammation, the newly formed squamous epithelium covers the openings of the cervical gland ducts or extends into the gland ducts, blocking the openings of the gland ducts. The hyperplasia of connective tissue or scar formation around the glandular duct compresses the glandular duct, causing it to narrow or even become blocked. The drainage of glandular secretions is obstructed and retained, forming cysts.

3. Unclean sexual life: Cervical cysts are common in women who have sexual lives. Premarital sex, multiple sexual partners, and unhygienic sexual life may all lead to the occurrence of this disease. If the cervical cyst is small and not infected, no treatment is required. If it is large and infected, active treatment is necessary.

Gynecological experts said that since this disease is an inflammation, it is not serious, but it needs to be emphasized that chronic cervicitis is closely related to cervical cancer. Under long-term inflammatory stimulation, a small number of chronic cervicitis patients have a tendency to malignant transformation, so it still requires high attention. The main thing is to have a cervical smear test every year to rule out cervical cancer and precancerous diseases.

Scattered, smaller cervical cysts generally do not require treatment, and annual checks are sufficient. For densely packed smaller Nabothian cysts or relatively large cysts, physical treatments such as phototherapy, laser, microwave, and self-coagulation knife can be considered. For larger tumors that protrude from the surface of the cervix, electrosurgical excision can be considered. The above treatment methods are not very painful and basically do not affect daily work and life.
