How is endometriosis diagnosed?

How is endometriosis diagnosed?

Endometriosis is a common gynecological disease, and patients may experience adverse phenomena such as irregular menstruation and infertility. In medicine, you can determine whether you have this disease through methods such as CA125 value measurement, anti-endometrial antibodies, B-type ultrasound examination, and biopsy.

1. Diagnosis

Inspection item 1: Laboratory examination

1. CA125 value determination: It is helpful for the diagnosis of endometriosis and can also monitor the efficacy of endometriosis treatment.

2. Anti-endometrial antibodies: Anti-endometrial antibodies are the marker antibodies of endometriosis. The detection of serum EMAb is an effective examination method for the diagnosis and efficacy observation of patients with endometriosis.

Examination Item 2: Imaging Examination

1. Type B ultrasound examination: It helps to understand ovarian endometriosis and its size, and can detect masses that cannot be palpated during pelvic examination.

2. Biopsy: If endometriosis is suspected in the cervix, vagina, abdominal wall scars, etc., a biopsy is taken from the local lesion for pathological examination.

3. Laparoscopy: The best way to diagnose endometriosis.

4. Magnetic resonance imaging: This method can directly image in multiple planes, intuitively understand the scope, origin and invaded structure of the lesion, correctly locate the lesion, and enhance the display ability of soft tissue.

2. Types of surgery and selection principles

1. Conservative surgery. To preserve the patient's reproductive function, surgery is performed to remove visible lesions as much as possible, remove ovarian endometriosis cysts, and separate adhesions. Suitable for young people or those who need to preserve their fertility.

2. Semi-radical surgery. The uterus and lesions are removed, but the ovaries are retained. It is mainly suitable for those who have no fertility requirements but wish to preserve ovarian endocrine function.

3. Radical surgery. The entire uterus, bilateral adnexa, and all macroscopic lesions were removed. It is suitable for those who are older, have no fertility requirements, have severe symptoms or have not responded to multiple treatments.

4. Auxiliary surgery. Such as uterine nerve removal (LUNA) and presacral neurectomy (PSN), which are suitable for pain in the midline area.

What tests should be done for endometriosis? Experts kindly remind you: If you have endometriosis, timely treatment is the key. The earlier the treatment, the easier it is to cure the disease, and the greater the chance of pregnancy after recovery. Therefore, you must choose a regular hospital for scientific examinations to thoroughly find out the cause of the disease and receive scientific treatment.
