The dangers of taking contraceptive pills once, be careful in the future

Some young women do not know how to protect themselves during sexual intercourse and do not take contraceptive measures, so they choose to take one-time contraceptive pills afterwards. Here we clearly tell you that taking contraceptive pills can cause certain harm to the body, so you must be careful in the future.

1. Vaginal bleeding. Many women experience persistent spotting or breakthrough bleeding similar to menstrual volume while taking the medication. This is related to missed doses, late doses of birth control pills, or insufficient effectiveness of birth control pills.

2. Oligomenorrhea or amenorrhea. Contraceptive pills can cause endometrial hypoplasia and insufficient glandular secretion, so the endometrium cannot grow normally and becomes thinner, resulting in a decrease in menstrual volume. Some women experience amenorrhea due to excessive inhibitory effects of contraceptives, which results in no withdrawal bleeding after stopping the medication.

3. Weight gain. Some women gain weight after taking birth control pills because certain ingredients in birth control pills can cause weight gain. Especially in the first 3 months of taking oral contraceptives, the increased estrogen levels cause water and sodium retention, thus leading to weight gain in the second half of the menstrual cycle; progesterone promotes anabolism, leading to weight gain.

4. Dull complexion. After taking birth control pills, some women may experience a dull complexion, which is caused by pigmentation caused by estrogen.

In fact, there is usually no big problem with taking the birth control pill once, but it is better to stop taking the pill for a while before getting pregnant, preferably three months. If you don't want to have any problems with your body, you must take these drugs as little as possible, and you must take contraceptive measures during sex. You can only take this drug as a last resort when you are sure that other contraceptive measures have failed, and it is best not to take it more than three times within a year.
