How to prevent sagging breasts during weaning? These skills are important

It is a very skillful job for women to wean their babies. If they do not understand these methods and techniques, on the one hand, the baby may not be able to adapt, and on the other hand, their breasts may become uncomfortable. So how should women wean their babies scientifically?

1. Timely weaning

It is reasonable to arrange weaning between 8 months and 1 and a half years old. For babies, untimely weaning will make them overly dependent on their mother's milk, causing them to eat poorly and affecting their development. For mothers, untimely weaning will affect their work, and too long a breastfeeding period is not good for breast recovery.

3. Stop sucking

After the nipple is cracked, the first thing to do is to stop the baby from sucking directly, so as to avoid long-term damage or even worsening of the condition, causing diarrhea or pseudo-melena in the baby. For mothers with mild symptoms, they can apply the medicine after breastfeeding, wipe it off before breastfeeding, and use an inhaler to extract breast milk for feeding. Alternatively, you can apply expressed breast milk directly to cracked nipples to promote healing.

4. Evacuate the nipple

When the mother feels bitten, she can insert her fingers between the nipple and the baby's gums, remove the nipple, or gently press the baby's head to the breast to block his nose. This way the baby will instinctively open his mouth.

5. Dry healing

After the baby finishes breastfeeding, the mother can directly use breast milk to clean the wound. Do not wear a bra immediately. Try to leave the nipple open to let it air dry. This helps soften and moisturize the nipple and can also make the crack heal quickly. It is best to change your underwear frequently and keep it dry.

6. If you want to wean your baby off breast milk, you must first let your baby successfully stop breastfeeding. Otherwise, the baby will become addicted to milk and will continue to suck milk intermittently, making it impossible for the baby to be weaned. It takes about a week to wean a baby off breast milk. The baby is more dependent on breast milk at night. It doesn’t matter whether the baby is fed with breast milk or formula during the day, so if the baby can successfully stop eating breast milk at night, it means that the baby has been successfully weaned.
