Menstrual disorders refer to changes in the menstrual cycle, menstrual volume, and color. Some patients' periods will come earlier, with a cycle of about 20 days, while others will have delayed periods, with less menstrual volume. The most common cause of menstrual disorders is endocrine disorders. 1. Early menstruation: Early menstruation refers to a shortened menstrual cycle that is shorter than 21 days and occurs for more than two consecutive cycles. It is a biphasic basal body temperature of ovulatory functional uterine bleeding, a short follicular phase of only 7 or 8 days; or a luteal phase of less than 10 days, or a temperature rise of less than 0.5 degrees Celsius. 2. Delayed menstruation: Menstruation is missed for more than 7 days, or even every 40 to 50 days, and symptoms appear for more than 2 menstrual cycles. For those who ovulate, the basal body temperature is biphasic, but the follicular phase is long and the high temperature phase is low; for those who do not ovulate, the basal body temperature is monophasic. 3. Prolonged menstrual period: The symptoms of this type of menstrual disorder are mainly manifested as normal menstrual cycle, prolonged menstrual period, menstrual period exceeding 7 days, or even 2 weeks. People with inflammation usually have lower abdominal pain, which worsens during menstruation. They also have a lot of leucorrhea, which is yellow or yellow-white, thick, and has an odor. Those with incomplete corpus luteum atrophy also have heavy menstrual flow; those with prolonged endometrial repair still have a small amount of persistent vaginal bleeding after the normal menstrual period. 4. Irregular menstruation: menstruation is early or late, and the cycle is shorter than 21 days or longer than 35 days. 5. Causes of menstrual disorders 1. Caused by neuroendocrine dysfunction: mainly due to unstable or defective function of the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian axis, that is, menstrual disorder. 2. Caused by organic diseases or drugs, including local inflammation, tumors and developmental abnormalities of the reproductive organs, malnutrition; intracranial diseases; other endocrine dysfunctions such as thyroid and adrenal cortex dysfunction, diabetes, Sheehan's disease, etc.; liver diseases; blood diseases, etc. Menstrual irregularities may occur in women who use drugs to treat mental illnesses, endocrine preparations, or intrauterine devices for contraception. Certain occupations, such as long-distance runners, are prone to amenorrhea. In addition, some abnormal bleeding during pregnancy is often mistaken for menstrual irregularities. |
