Female slight hand tremor

Female slight hand tremor

It is reported that a man suffered a sudden cerebral thrombosis and his right upper body movements were not flexible. It was learned that the patient had hand tremors 20 years ago and the symptoms have continued to this day. Hand tremor is more common in the elderly and is one of the clinical symptoms of Parkinson's disease. However, many young people or adults also have hand tremors in daily life, and they are very worried that they may have Parkinson's disease. So, what causes hand tremors? What diseases can hand tremors cause?

What is hand tremor?

Hand tremor is mainly manifested as irregular and regular shaking, which can be divided into physiological tremor and physiological tremor.

Physiological hand tremors are weak in strength but fast in speed, and often occur when one is still. They often occur when one is nervous, anxious, afraid, emotionally excited, in severe pain, and extremely tired. Once the above causes are eliminated, the hand tremors will also disappear, and will not easily affect one's health.

Physiological hand tremor, medically known as "tremor", refers to the involuntary shaking of the hands, often permanent, and its cause may be that certain diseases cause damage to the area of the brain involved in motor coordination.

Physiological hand tremor may be a data signal of these four diseases

In addition to physiological hand tremors, physiological hand tremors may be a sign of many diseases, such as the following:

1. Parkinson's disease. At first, the patient may only have one side of the body (left or right) affected. Some may initially present with mild tremors in one finger, while others may present with cognitive impairment. As the disease progresses, symptoms may appear on both sides of the body. The more typical manifestation of this disease is the thumb and ring finger 3 to 4 times per second, like the "ball-rolling" posture. With the increase of the current medical history, muscle stiffness, posture decline, unsteady walking, and tremors in the legs, feet or jaw may occur.

It usually occurs in middle-aged and elderly people aged 50 to 60 years old, with men slightly more than women, and the prevalence rate accounts for about 75%-80% of all patients.

2. Essential tremor. The cause of this disease is still unclear. It mainly affects the upper limbs and head. The symptoms of this disease are exactly the opposite of Parkinson's disease. The main feature of this disease is that the tremor is obvious during physical activities and relieved or disappeared when still, such as writing, shooting and holding chopsticks. There are similar patients in the family, indicating that there is a certain degree of inheritance. Some people's tremors are relieved after drinking a small amount of alcohol, and examination of the central nervous system shows no other abnormalities except hand tremors.

3. Thyroid hormone is relatively hyperactive. Hyperthyroidism is also a common cause of body tremors. If hand tremors are accompanied by weight loss, sweating, exophthalmos, rapid heartbeat and other symptoms, you need to go to the hospital in time for high blood thyroxine and thyroid ultrasound examination.

4. Cerebellar lesions. The thalamus is involved in the regulation of body balance and muscle tension, as well as the coordination of random movements. Once the thalamus becomes diseased, the patient will have intention tremor, that is, the closer the patient is to the target object, the more obvious the tremor. In addition, there may be nystagmus, speech changes, and unsteady walking and other manifestations of ataxia.

In general, in addition to physiological hand tremors, other more serious hand tremor symptoms may be signs of certain diseases and should be treated in a regular hospital in time.
