What causes habitual miscarriage? Causes of habitual miscarriage

There are many factors that cause habitual miscarriage, including luteal insufficiency, chromosomal abnormalities, environmental factors, maternal factors and immune factors. When treating, we must treat according to the cause.

1. Luteal insufficiency: due to poor luteal development or premature degeneration, insufficient progesterone secretion, or reduced responsiveness of the endometrium to progesterone, the secretory endometrium develops slowly or stagnates, or the matrix and glands develop asynchronously, affecting the implantation of the fertilized egg.

2. Chromosomal abnormality: If the embryo of one or both spouses has chromosomal abnormality, resulting in the embryo not being able to develop normally, spontaneous abortion often occurs because some embryos have chromosomal abnormalities while their parents have normal chromosomes. Whether women with chromosomal abnormalities can become pregnant again should be determined based on the type of abnormality. If they can become pregnant again, prenatal diagnosis should be performed to ensure good birth and upbringing.

3. Environmental factors. Excessive exposure to certain harmful chemicals (such as arsenic, lead, benzene, formaldehyde, chloroprene, ethylene oxide, etc.) and physical factors (such as radiation, noise and high temperature, etc.) can cause miscarriage.

4. Maternal factors. Acute illness, high fever, bacterial toxins or viruses (herpes simplex virus, cytomegalovirus, etc.), severe anemia or heart failure, chronic nephritis or hypertension, reproductive organ diseases (such as uterine malformation, double uterus, septate uterus and uterine hypoplasia, etc.), pelvic tumors (such as uterine fibroids, etc.), hypothyroidism, uncontrolled severe diabetes, and placental endocrine insufficiency during pregnancy can all lead to miscarriage.

5. Immune factors. If the immune system of both mother and child is not compatible, the mother may reject the embryo and cause miscarriage.
