What to do if the hymen is broken and how to repair it

Both men and women have their own thoughts and opinions about the hymen. The cleaning of men's hymen makes many women miserable. The ruptured hymen can be repaired through surgery. You should also pay attention to protecting the hymen during daily exercise.

1. The role of the hymen

Before puberty, women's reproductive organs are not yet fully developed, the vaginal mucosa is weaker and the acidity is lower, so it cannot prevent the invasion of bacteria. The hymen is thicker at this time, so it takes on this important task and plays a role in protecting the female reproductive system. After puberty, women's reproductive organs gradually develop and the vagina has the function of resisting bacterial invasion, but the hymen gradually becomes weak and loses this function. Therefore, for mature women, the hymen no longer has any physiological function.

2. What to do if the hymen is broken

Hymen repair is a surgical procedure that restores the remaining hymen to its pre-rupture state. The difficulty of hymen repair depends on the shape of the fragments of the ruptured hymen. If the rupture is caused by sports, impact from external objects, or the couple's lack of sexual intercourse, it is generally easier to repair. For those whose hymen is severely damaged due to multiple sexual intercourses, the doctor's experience is needed and the operation must be performed carefully. Although the operation is a bit difficult, it can be fully recovered.

3. How to protect the hymen

The hymen can prevent external unclean things from entering the vagina and has the function of protecting the vagina. Before puberty, the ovaries secrete very little estrogen, and the vaginal mucosa is thin, with few wrinkles and low acidity, so the resistance is poor. The hymen has a protective function to block bacteria from invading the vagina. After puberty, with the development of the ovaries, the estrogen in the body increases, the vaginal resistance is strengthened, and the hymen gradually loses its function. The hole in the hymen is a physiological necessity. After a woman matures, the menstrual blood is discharged from the body once a month through this small hole. If there is no small hole in the membrane, the menstrual blood will be blocked by it and cannot be discharged from the body. This is medically called hymen occlusion. If not discovered in time, menstrual blood accumulates in the vagina, and after years and months, it can expand upward to the uterine cavity and fallopian tubes, flow into the abdominal cavity through the distal opening of the fallopian tubes, causing damage to the fallopian tubes, intestinal adhesions, and abdominal infection.
