What to do with vertigo? Chinese medicine external treatment for vertigo

I don’t know if you have ever had this experience, suddenly feeling dizzy. Dizziness has a great impact on people’s physical health. Finally, it was believed that dizziness was mostly caused by insufficient qi and blood, and hyperactivity of liver yang. Vertigo can be treated through some traditional Chinese medicine methods.

1. Medicated pillow therapy

1: Recipe 1: Grind 50g each of Prunella Vulgaris, lotus leaves, bamboo leaves, dandelions and chrysanthemums into fine powder, put into a cloth bag and use as a pillow core for 1 to 2 months. Recipe 2: 500g wild chrysanthemum, 100g safflower, 200g mint, 50g each of winter mulberry leaves, magnolia and borneol, grind them into coarse powder and put them into pillow core. One course of treatment is 3 months. Both of these prescriptions can clear away heat and calm the liver, and are suitable for dizziness caused by hyperactivity of liver yang.

2. Baihui Method

Take equal amounts of castor beans and raw pinellia, mash them into a paste, apply it to the Baihui acupoint, wrap it with a dressing, and secure it with adhesive tape. Change the dressing once a day for 2 to 3 days. It can eliminate phlegm and dampness, and is suitable for dizziness caused by phlegm and dampness. Generally, the dizziness can be significantly relieved 30 minutes after taking the medicine.

Three: Moist heat compress

1: 50g each of medicinal angelica, smilax glabra, rhizoma smilacis miltiorrhizae, 20g each of siler and polyphylla, 10g of angelica dahurica flower, and 15g of frankincense. Mash and mix evenly, put into cloth bags, soak in water for about 20 minutes, put into a steamer and heat for 20 minutes, take out and cool to about 50℃, then place on the neck for hot ironing. 30 minutes each time, reheat if it gets cold, twice a day, 10 days as a course of treatment. If conditions permit, the above-mentioned drugs can be boiled in water, and the concentrated liquid can be taken to 100 ml. Two pieces of flannel, 8cm×12cm and 12cm×12cm, are soaked with the juice and placed on the neck. Two electrode plates of equal size are added, and a direct current of 15mA is passed for ion penetration. This method is an expanded application of traditional Chinese medicine wet compress therapy, using direct current to introduce drug ions into the body through the skin and mucous membranes to achieve the purpose of treatment.

4. Ear plugging therapy

1: Grind 10g of magnetite into fine powder, divide it into 2 parts, wrap them with gauze, and plug them into both ears, 1 to 2 times a day, each time for 1 hour, for 5 to 7 consecutive days. It can calm the liver and suppress yang, and is suitable for dizziness caused by kidney deficiency. People also use fresh Rehmannia to plug the affected ear to treat vertigo.

5. Umbilical filling therapy

Grind 10g each of Astragalus and Schisandra into fine powder, add appropriate amount of water to make a thin paste, apply to the navel, bandage with dressing, and secure with adhesive tape. Change the dressing once a day for 3 to 5 days. It can strengthen the spleen and replenish qi, and is suitable for dizziness caused by qi and blood deficiency.

6. Auricular therapy

Take a piece of borneol the size of a grain of rice, place it in the center of a 0.5cm×0.5cm piece of adhesive tape, and stick it on the acupoints on both ears (acupoints: Shenmen, brain, subcortical, sympathetic, bilaterally, 2 to 3 acupoints each time), change it every 3 days, and 4 times constitute a course of treatment. When using the medicine, the adhesive plaster should be tightly sealed around it to prevent the borneol from evaporating. Some people may feel drowsy after applying the medicine, but then become alert again, so there is no need to worry too much. This prescription can also treat insomnia.

7: Dizziness is caused by blood vessels in the skin

Dilation and increased blood flow lead to a decrease in blood flow to the brain. This phenomenon may be caused by prolonged exposure to the sun, taking a hot bath for too long, or being nervous or angry. In addition to the above reasons, vitamin deficiency, abnormal hormone secretion, menopause or autonomic nervous system disorders are also factors that cause dizziness.
