Choosing this industry is equivalent to choosing obesity

Women are afraid of gaining weight because they look ugly and it is difficult to lose weight again. However, women in some professions are more likely to gain weight. Are you one of them?

A recent survey report from CareerShaper, a well-known American job search website, found that travel agency employees, lawyers and judges are the professions most likely to make people fat. Other occupations that are prone to "weight gain" include: social workers, teachers, artists, administrative assistants, doctors, police, firefighters, drivers, marketing, public relations personnel and information technology personnel.

Studies have found that being busy at work does not necessarily make people lose weight. On the contrary, 40% of people have gained weight because of their current jobs, more than 20% have gained at least 4.5 kg, and 14% have gained at least 9 kg. After investigation and analysis, the researchers found that 44% of people sit at their desks all day long and never leave even to eat.

However, occupations that are prone to obesity in China are slightly different from those in the United States. Many domestic surveys have found that people in occupations such as drivers, IT workers, company employees, civil servants, teachers, and doctors are more likely to gain weight. An expert from a Shanghai hospital told reporters that these occupations require long periods of sitting and involve high levels of work pressure. Many people cannot understand why they gain weight even though they are extremely busy.

Experts explained that in addition to the possibility of obesity-prone genes, people who are under great work pressure may relieve stress by drinking sugary drinks and eating snacks, eating more when they are free, and not exercising enough, so the energy they eat is far greater than the energy they consume. Second, the stress of work can affect the normal secretion of the neuroendocrine system, such as leading to an increase in the stress hormone cortisol, which makes people more likely to gain weight, and excessive nervous excitement can also make people eat more without realizing it.

Finally, the experts gave three suggestions: First, pay attention to the combination of work and rest, and actively seek opportunities to rest, even if it is only for a few minutes; second, drink less sugary drinks, control your diet, and exercise more. Studies have found that people who drink soda more than twice a week or fruit juice twice a week have a 42% and 29% higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes than those who do not drink them, respectively; third, lead a regular life and stay up late less.
