Can vaginal ultrasound detect cervical erosion?

Can vaginal ultrasound detect cervical erosion?

Cervical erosion is a serious condition that, if not treated promptly, may lead to cervical cancer. Therefore, early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment of cervical erosion are necessary. Cervical erosion can be diagnosed through microscopic examination and other methods. Can vaginal ultrasound detect cervical erosion?

Can vaginal ultrasound detect cervical erosion?

Vaginal ultrasound cannot detect cervical erosion. Endoscopic examination is one of the ways to check for cervical erosion. Many hospitals and outpatient clinics use this method to check whether patients have cervical erosion. Cervical smear cytology examination is a routine gynecological examination. It is simple and easy to perform. It is a very important auxiliary examination and the preferred initial screening method for anti-cancer investigation.

Intravaginal ultrasound

Intravaginal B-ultrasound, also known as intracavitary B-ultrasound, inserts a long camera into the vagina or anus to observe the internal organs of the pelvis. Compared with abdominal B-ultrasound, the images are clear and real, and the examinee does not need to "hold urine". Married people are examined vaginally, and single people are examined anally.

Purpose of intravaginal B-ultrasound: To check whether the uterus, cervix, uterine wall, etc. have any disease or deformity.

Application scope of intravaginal B-ultrasound

1. The sonographic manifestations of the uterine wall during a normal menstrual cycle and the perfect and immature follicles in normal uterine and ovarian follicles (the so-called "ovulation detection").

2. Benign uterine tumors: 1. Adenomyosis; 2. Uterine fibroids.

3. Uterine malignant tumors: 1. Endometrial cancer; 2. Cervical cancer.

4. Non-neoplastic cysts of the uterus and ovaries: 1. Polycystic ovary syndrome; 2. Chocolate cyst.

5. Uterine and ovarian tumors.

6. Confirm the diagnosis of early pregnancy as soon as possible.

7. Abnormal early pregnancy is especially ectopic pregnancy (i.e. "ectopic pregnancy"), because ectopic pregnancy is a clinical medical crisis, and if it is not treated in time, it will also lead to death, so this point is very important!

How long does it take to do an ultrasound during pregnancy?

The best time to have an ultrasound examination is usually 5-6 months into the pregnancy. The older the gestational age, the less impact the ultrasound will have on the fetus. It is generally believed that it is best not to do B-ultrasound for babies within 18 weeks of pregnancy, especially in the early stages of pregnancy. Except for special circumstances, such as vaginal bleeding, an ultrasound is needed to determine whether the fetus is alive, whether it is possible to get pregnant again, whether there is an abnormal pregnancy or hydatidiform mole, etc.

Experts point out that too many B-ultrasounds during the first two months of pregnancy will cause embryonic cell decomposition and affect the human brain. During the 4th to 6th month of pregnancy, because the fetus's internal organs are not fully grown and developed, too many B-ultrasounds will affect the baby's development. Exceptions are made when there are natural abnormal phenomena.

Does ultrasound examination have any effect on the fetus?

Experts say that the sound intensity emitted by the B-ultrasound camera currently used in clinical medicine is less than 10 mW/cm3, and the color Doppler ultrasound examination time is usually only 5 to 10 minutes, which means the detection time for each human organ is even shorter. Therefore, B-ultrasound examination does little harm to the fetus and will not affect the physical and mental growth of the fetus. Therefore, pregnant women do not need to be psychologically afraid of B-ultrasound examinations during pregnancy. Appropriate B-ultrasound examinations are an important way to ensure the normal growth and development of the fetus.
