What does a used tampon look like?

Tampons are a product that women use during their menstruation. They have the same function as sanitary napkins, but are used differently from sanitary napkins. They are particularly common in Europe and the United States, and less commonly in my country. However, they are also a useful product, especially since they do not restrict women's normal activities. So, what does a used tampon look like? Let’s take a look at it below.

The material of tampons is mainly made of cotton, synthetic fiber or a mixture of these two materials. The sizes range from 1 cm to 1.9 cm in diameter, and there is a cotton thread (drawstring) attached to the end. The degree of arc at the tip of the tampon varies from brand to brand, allowing users to choose according to their own usage habits. There are often straight or diagonal indentations on the body of the tampon, which can increase the tampon's ability to conduct fluid and fit against the vaginal wall when it expands as it absorbs menstrual blood.

The catheter-type tampons come with a paper or plastic catheter to facilitate the user to insert the tampon. The overall structure of the catheter is divided into an outer tube and an inner tube. The surface of the outer tube is smooth and the front end is rounded for easy insertion. The front end of the outer tube has a petal-shaped opening. The function of the inner tube is to push the sanitary tampon out of the valve-shaped opening of the outer tube in a piston-like propulsion manner.

Tampon labeling method: Two water drops indicate an absorbency between 6 and 9 grams. Like sanitary napkins, tampons also have different absorbencies. Since the absorbency of tampons is believed to be related to toxic shock syndrome in women, after 1988, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearly defined the standard for the suction capacity of tampons.

Through the above introduction, we now know what a used tampon looks like. This is also a new type of sanitary product for women during menstruation. When using it, female friends should not only pay attention to the correct usage method, but also use it according to their own physical condition, especially during menstruation.
