How does the sex life of older women suffer?

As female friends get older, they are still very resistant to the issue of sex. After all, their sexual desire decreases, and even sexual intercourse is often embarrassing. So what impact does this have on the sex life of older women? In fact, women's sexual desire is closely related to hormone secretion. When the ovarian function gradually declines and menopause occurs, sexual desire will be greatly reduced.

1. Decrease in estrogen and decreased sexual interest. Someone investigated and compared women of the same age group, namely pre-menopause, mid-menopause and post-menopause, and found that their sexual interest decreased by 52%, 68% and 79% respectively.

2. As estrogen levels gradually decrease, the frequency of sexual intercourse decreases. A survey showed that early menopausal women, whose blood estrogen levels were twice as high as those in late menopause, had almost twice as much sexual intercourse frequency. Although testosterone levels are thought to be a driving force behind sexual arousal, there was no difference in testosterone levels between the two groups of women. Some people believe that when blood estrogen levels drop to 35 ng/mg or less, it will indicate a significant change in the frequency of sexual intercourse (less than once a week), so this value becomes a critical number. When estrogen levels are above this value, almost all women have intercourse at least once a week.

A survey showed that the number of women who stopped sexual activity in the three age groups of 46-50, 51-60 and 61-70 were 14%, 42% and 73% respectively. Surveys show that the frequency of sexual activity (including sexual intercourse, manual genital stimulation, and physical intimacy) in postmenopausal women is lower than that in premenopausal women.

3. The ability to orgasm also decreases after menopause. Although the ability to orgasm remains the same for most people, it is reported that 12%, 16% and 24% of women in the 38, 50 and 54 age groups respectively are unable to orgasm during sexual intercourse.

Through the above introduction, everyone has a clear idea of the impact on the sexual life of elderly women. However, female friends still need to constantly improve their sex life. If they have some gynecological diseases and experience pain or discomfort during sexual intercourse, they should seize the time to seek correct treatment and never delay.
