One is that sexual intercourse is too close to the time after delivery. Although the surface tissue of the perineum has healed, the deep muscle layer and fascia have not fully recovered. Second, inflammation of the wound affects healing; anemia and malnutrition in the mother can also affect healing. Third, the husband has abstained from sex for a long time during his wife's late pregnancy and postpartum period. Once they resume their sexual life, the movements may be too intense, which can easily cause perineal tissue damage, bleeding or rupture. Fourth, it is related to the suture of the wound; except for the epidermis of the perineum which is sutured with silk thread, the inner muscle and subcutaneous fat layer are sutured with catgut.
