Is postpartum nose bleeding serious?

Some female friends may have nosebleeds during childbirth. This is most likely due to postpartum inflammation. From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, female friends' bodies are prone to imbalance of yin and yang after childbirth, which can lead to strong internal heat, causing nosebleeds. If the baby is born in the dry autumn climate, it is more likely to cause nosebleeds after childbirth. In fact, this phenomenon is not particularly serious. Here are some simple solutions.

Don't worry, just pay attention to rest and diet adjustment. You must rest at home after delivery, pay attention to sleep, and don't let yourself get tired again, but never lie in bed for a whole month. Generally, you can get out of bed 3 days after delivery and do some light activities. You should insist on proper physical exercise during the confinement period, and do some postpartum gymnastics or yoga, which can help restore your body shape as soon as possible. From the second day after delivery, you can comb your hair, brush your teeth, and rinse your mouth. But try not to touch cold water. You can use moxa leaves, chicken blood vine or ginger peel to boil water for bathing and washing your hair. Keep your hands and nipples clean and hygienic, especially pay attention to keeping the perineum clean.

You can eat both vegetables and fruits. If you are afraid of cold food, eat less cold fruits such as watermelon and banana. The diet for postpartum women should be small and frequent meals, and a combination of meat and vegetables. In particular, emphasis should be placed on light food that is easy to digest. Never overeat to prevent overnutrition. During the confinement period, the room needs to be ventilated frequently, but without convection through doors and windows, and do not let drafts blow on the postpartum woman and baby to avoid colds. Nosebleeds may be caused by dry air and dry, fragile nasal mucosa that is prone to bleeding. You can go to the hospital to get some paraffin oil or peppermint oil to apply to your nasal cavity, or you can ask the doctor to check and burn the blood vessels in your nasal cavity to avoid frequent bleeding. You should also check your blood to see if there are any blood system diseases. See your ENT doctor to see if there is a deviated nasal septum, etc. You should drink more water, eat more vegetables and avoid pinching your nose.

In fact, women’s postpartum heat can be divided into two types: real heat and false heat. If it is real fire, not only will each other bleed, but it may also cause blood in the urine or stool, or easily lead to constipation, and the body will feel very hot. If it is a false fire, you will easily feel cold in the afternoon, or feel tired and weak.
