How long does it take for the lochia from miscarriage to be discharged?

Generally speaking, after miscarriage, it will take about a week for the patient to discharge lochia, but because each person's physical fitness is different, the actual time will also be different. But the maximum number will not exceed ten days. If postpartum lochia lasts for more than ten days, this situation may be a sign of incomplete abortion or poor uterine repair. It is recommended to go to the hospital for a gynecological color ultrasound as soon as possible to see if the fetus has been completely discharged from the body. If not, it is recommended to undergo uterine curettage as soon as possible.

The lochia after miscarriage is usually discharged within one month. If it is stubborn lochia, it can be discharged within a week.

Of course, there are individual differences in practice. For some women, after induced abortion, as the uterus recovers, the lochia in the vagina gradually decreases from solid to serous, to white lochia, and there is no odor. Necessary milk-weaning measures must be taken to stop milk production, so there will be a certain degree of discomfort. At the same time, after the uterus is well repaired, the lochia will be significantly reduced, which is also conducive to the body's recovery. Appropriate exercise is also required to prevent blood accumulation in the uterine cavity.

After giving birth, pay attention to eating more foods that disperse blood stasis and promote blood circulation, such as hawthorn fruit, old brown sugar, dried longan, lotus root, etc., but be careful not to consume too much brown sugar ginger water to prevent postpartum lochia from not stopping. You can massage your abdomen more often to promote the discharge of postpartum lochia.

Under normal circumstances, postpartum lochia usually lasts about 42 days. Postpartum lochia contains blood and necrotic decidual tissue. Postpartum lochia has a fishy smell, but no peculiar smell. The total output of postpartum lochia is about 250 to 500 ml. In clinical medicine, due to the different colors, substances contained and time of delivery of postpartum lochia, it can be divided into terrible lochia, serous lochia and white lochia. Stubborn postpartum lochia is red, with a large amount, and lasts about 3-4 days. Then the bleeding gradually subsided and turned into serous lochia with a light red color that lasted about 10 days. The white lochia lasts for about three weeks.
