What causes dark circles under women's eyes?

Many women will have dark circles under their eyes for a period of time, which makes many women feel very distressed. Not only will it affect their beauty, but they will also be worried. The main reason is that the dark circles are particularly abnormal. In fact, women should pay attention to it when they have dark circles. If we don’t get enough rest and this happens, there may be a problem. So what is going on with women’s dark circles? Let’s take a look below.

The first is that the skin near the eyelashes of the upper and lower eyelids is brown or light gray-black, sometimes accompanied by slight roughness, thickening or wrinkles on the skin. This type is less common and usually appears after middle age. The causes of this type of dark circles under the eyes are more complicated. Some are due to trauma, which easily leaves obvious pigmentation spots in the local area; some are due to seborrheic dermatitis, melanoma, upper eyelid neurodermatitis, dermatomyositis or severe blepharitis on the skin of the eyelids, which can cause varying degrees of skin roughness, thickening and pigmentation.

The second type is a brown or light gray-black crescent-shaped strip that extends from the inner corner of the eye at an angle of about 45 degrees downward. It is not obvious when you are young, but begins to move outward and upward in middle-aged and elderly people and reaches the outer corner of the eye, forming a complete semicircle and about several millimeters in size. This type is common and can be seen in almost everyone from young to old, with only different shades of color. This type of dark circles under the eyes usually form with age and changes in physical health. It is often caused by severe insomnia, anemia or certain women's diseases, such as irregular menstruation, functional uterine bleeding and excessive sexual life. The color will become darker and more obvious.

The third is the reflection of certain pathological changes in the capillaries around the eyes. For example, when you are in poor physical condition due to arteriosclerosis, menopause, or a serious illness, the area around your eyes may become congested, leading to blood stasis and darkening of the area around your eyes.

Through the above introduction, we know why women have dark circles under their eyes. When this happens, we should not only pay attention to conditioning in our daily lives, but also have reasonable living habits, avoid overwork, pay attention to rest, and go to the hospital for examination to prevent the occurrence of disease.
