Everyone knows that to practice Qigong one must "get the Qi to Dantian", but where is the exact location of Dantian? What is the function of Dantian? How do you practice Dantian to get Qi to death? These are all knowledge that can only be understood by practicing Qigong. "Nanjing. Difficulty 66" says: "Dantian is the root of man." It also says: "The moving Qi below the navel is the life of man." Below the navel refers to Dantian. Dantian is the base of life, the processing plant and warehouse of Qi, the operation and supply center of "Qi" throughout the body, and the most important place for humans to maintain physical and mental health. There are several major respiratory systems for human safety: one is blood, the other is qi. As far as blood is concerned, the heart can be called the blood sea point, and the source of all large blood vessels is the heart, which delivers blood to the whole body; as far as qi is concerned, the location of the dantian is also called the qi sea point, and all meridians are directly or indirectly related to the dantian, and qi is delivered to the whole body by the dantian. In other words, the heart is the pump of blood, and the dantian is the pump of qi. Breathing in and out to the Dantian is a basic internal skill for qigong practitioners. However, as long as a person is alive, the body cannot lack the supply of qi. No matter what realm of life you have reached over time, you still have to practice Dantian. The replenishment and storage of Dantian Qi cannot be stopped throughout your life, otherwise the body will not be able to function. If the master only practices the spirit system but does not practice the Dantian essence, he will still get sick and will not live a long life. However, there have been many disagreements about the location of Dantian from ancient times to the present. Some people say that it is one inch and three fen below the navel, some say that it is one inch and three fen inside the navel, and some say that it is in the solar plexus at the heart. There are many different opinions and no consensus. Where is the exact location of Dantian? First of all, according to the meaning of the word, whether it is one inch and three fen below the navel or one inch and three fen inside the navel, it refers to a point, not an entire area. When we focus on Dantian, we are focusing on the point about one inch and three fen below the navel. This is different from the "Dantian Qi" practiced by martial arts masters. Martial arts masters practice Dantian to cultivate the mixed primordial Qi that is one with the immortal point. Mixed primordial Qi is a "vibrating electromagnetic field mass", which is no longer a point, but a piece. With the help of the mind and breath, it keeps in touch with the kinetic energy outside the body at any time and place, and can guide it at will. This is the real "Dantian Qi". Therefore, sitting in meditation is merely focusing the mind on the Guanyuan acupoint, while practicing Dantian Qi is truly focusing the mind on the Dantian. Taoists need to calm their minds when guarding the acupoints, but martial artists can control Dantian Qi by paying little attention, so they can practice it while walking, standing, sitting or lying down, and even during battles or exercise, they can replenish the energy in Dantian anytime and anywhere. To talk about Dantian, it is easier to understand if we first separate "Dan" and "Tian". In terms of the Chinese meaning, the original meaning of the word "dan" is "a pill-shaped thing", and the original meaning of the word "tian" is "a small piece of something". Rice fields and wheat fields refer to the fact that there are rice and wheat in Donghailin, and dantian refers to the fact that there is dan in Donghailin. Everything in the universe can be expressed by graphics. Everything originates from the transformation of the Eight Trigrams, and the Eight Trigrams are the graphics of the structure of heaven, earth, and all things. Man is born from heaven and earth, so where is the precise location of man between heaven and earth? If we look at it from a coordinate graph, we draw a straight line from the sky over our heads into the field, which is the vertical axis; then draw a horizontal line through the middle of our body, because the belly button is the center of the human body's cross-section, so take this line as the horizontal axis, the vertical axis and the horizontal axis must meet at a point inside the belly button, and this point is the precise location of man between heaven and earth. The ancient Korean scientist Xu Jun emphasized in his medical classic "Dongui Bogam": "The navel means even, which means that the left and right sides are even. Half of the body is the navel." The intersection of the human body's vertical axis and horizontal axis is exactly one inch and three points inside our belly button (not below), which is also the area where the human body coordinate is zero. From a scientific perspective, a coordinate of zero means that energy is not easily consumed, just like a black hole, which can absorb and store energy endlessly, and its cohesion becomes an energy center. Therefore, the "Dan" referred to by Taoism refers to this place, and Confucius's "It is better to keep the center" also refers to this place. We use a square to frame the cross coordinate at one inch and three points on all sides of it, and it becomes a "田" character. The upper part of this "田" character is called the upper dantian, and the lower half is called the lower dantian, also called the upper qihai point and the lower qihai point. However, Dantian is three-dimensional. The longitudinal section is a field, and the cross section is also a field. The central channel happens to be based on the positioning point of the field, connecting the spiritual platform to the sky above and the Yinqiao to the ground below. In terms of cross section, the four points where the cross and the word "kou" touch are the base areas of the Ren meridian, Du meridian, left meridian, and right meridian respectively. When we practice what we often say about sinking qi into dantian, we actually mean sinking qi into lower dantian; the point one inch and three points below the navel is called "Guanyuan acupoint", and when people say "focus on dantian", they actually mean guarding Guanyuan acupoint. Because the acupoints are all guarded at key points, not an entire area, the book "Xianfu" written by Huan Tan mentioned the basic theory of "accumulating qi in Guanyuan acupoint". In addition, the book "Daoshu. Taiqing Health Preservation Part 2" says: "There are three Dantian in the body. The brain is the upper Dantian; the heart is the middle Dantian; the Qihai point is the lower Dantian." Most practitioners also use this kind of name. The time levels for practicing these three Dantian areas are different. However, the Dantian mentioned in this book refers to the lower Dantian, Qihai point, and Guanyuan point. To judge how well a practitioner has cultivated his life energy, the most important thing is to see how well he has cultivated his Dantian Qi. From the appearance, there are two simple ways to distinguish: (1) see if his skin has luster. If the skin is dull and without elasticity, it means that the supply of information Qi is insufficient. (2) Are you as light as a swallow? If your body feels heavy and clumsy, it is also because of insufficient Qi. In addition, "Qi is the commander of blood, and blood is the mother of Qi". When Qi moves, blood circulates. Qi and blood are interdependent and influence each other. If Dantian Qi is practiced well, blood and Qi can blend in Dantian, and the blood will become cleaner and more cheerful, which will be manifested in smooth skin, white with rosy skin, with very few spots. Practitioners can achieve "childlike face and white hair" because the smooth flow of blood and Qi keeps the body young. The ancients said: "When the blood and qi are blocked, the disease is caused, and when the blood and qi are balanced, the disease is cured." Qi and blood are the main elements of physical and mental health. If people get sick, it is because there is something wrong with the blood and qi. If modern science only works hard on the blood level, but ignores the diagnosis of qi, then the understanding of physical and mental health is equivalent to missing half of the standard. Dantian is the "meeting place of all meridians", and the twelve main meridians and the eight extraordinary meridians converge here directly or indirectly. In the meridians of the human body, the twelve meridians manage the human electromagnetic field, while the eight extra meridians receive the energy of heaven and earth. The eight extra meridians have the function of regulating and supporting the twelve meridians. The twelve meridians are like rivers, and the eight extra meridians are like the sea and sky. The operation center of the eight extra meridians is in Dantian, and the connection between the twelve meridians and Dantian is indirect. The eight extraordinary meridians are divided into the eight open meridians and the eight exchange meridians. The meridians and qi meridians are different, they follow different routes and have different functions. Dantian is the pump of Qi. Qi gathers in Dantian and can be supplied to the whole body at any time and place. It is commonly used by the internal organs, meridians, limbs and bones. In addition to creating Dantian Qi, another equally important task is to open up the meridians. The meridians are the channels for regulating Qi, just as when we want to develop a city, the main task is to build a well-connected road network. There must be open roads to transport supplies and remove waste. According to ancient books, the human body has eight meridians, twelve channels and 36,000 fine collaterals, and the logistics system is very complicated. Scientists have discovered that if the abdominal pressure is sufficient, the internal organs will have very little inflammation. This is because the clear air in the Dantian flows through the internal organs through the meridians, which can eliminate the heat and depression of the internal organs and achieve the effect of expelling turbidity and absorbing clearness, which is the key to longevity and health. In addition to Dantian, acupoints throughout the body are also important focus points for practice. Acupoints are the confluence of blood, qi and energy in the body, and are also the entrance and exit for the body to communicate with external energy. Most of the acupoints in adults have declined, and they must be practiced and maintained to make them active. However, opening an acupoint is equivalent to opening a store on your body. Careful operation can certainly make money, but neglecting it will also incur some costs. Moreover, if the acupoint is not practiced for too long, it will become closed and ineffective. |
