What causes itchy labia?

For female friends, it is still very important to protect their own health and avoid gynecological diseases. When there is itching in the labia, you should be vigilant. After all, if the labia is infected by bacteria, it is easy for the bacteria to spread to other parts or enter the vagina, causing vaginitis and other gynecological diseases. This is not good. So what is the matter with the itchy labia?

Vulvar itching is a very common symptom of gynecological diseases. The vulva is a particularly sensitive area. Various gynecological diseases and external stimuli can cause itching, making people unable to sleep or eat, and unable to sit or lie down. Vulvar itching often occurs on the clitoris and labia minora, and may also affect the labia majora, perineum and perianal area.

Vulvar itching is mostly caused by vulvar inflammation caused by Trichomonas or fungal infection, which causes a large amount of abnormal leucorrhea to irritate the vulva and cause itching. Vulvar itching can also be caused by flushing the vulva and vagina with disinfectant, or placing certain drugs in the vagina (such as sulfonamides, furacillin, strong alkaline soaps, potassium permanganate solution, etc.), causing vulvar skin allergies or dermatitis.

Not paying attention to hygiene during menstruation, or using rubber or plastic menstrual belts, and failing to clean the vulva regularly, can cause menstrual blood or vaginal secretions to accumulate in the vulva for a long time; or wearing synthetic underwear at ordinary times, which often puts the vulva in a hot and humid environment, often causing vulva itching. It is recommended to go to a regular hospital's gynecology department for a pathogenic examination of vaginal or cervical secretions, and treat the symptoms after a clear diagnosis.

Common causes of labia itching:

1. Chronic local irritation, irritation from abnormal secretions of vulva, vagina and cervix inflammation;

2. Unclean vulva and tight synthetic underwear, sanitary napkins, etc. lead to poor permeability;

3. Vulvar parasitic diseases, such as pubic lice, pinworms, scabies, etc.;

4. Various vulvar skin diseases and vulvar tumors, etc.;

5. Local vulvar symptoms of systemic diseases, such as diabetes, uremia, vitamin deficiency, etc.

Through the above introduction, everyone is very clear about what causes itchy labia. We must pay attention to maintaining personal hygiene at ordinary times. This is a must. No matter what the cause of the itchy labia, we must find a way to deal with the problem as soon as possible, and it is necessary to combine prevention and treatment in a timely and correct manner.
