What medicine is best for urethritis?

Among the possible diseases of the urinary system, the most common is urethritis, which is a disease caused by bacterial infection and has symptoms such as itching and painful urination. Urethritis is not a serious disease, but it can also affect people's normal lives, especially delayed treatment will aggravate the condition. Therefore, patients need to find the cause and prescribe the right medicine to avoid taking medicine casually which may lead to more serious consequences.

From the perspective of Western medicine, antibiotics are often used to treat urethritis. The main commonly used drugs are as follows:

1. Ciprofloxacin: 250-500 mg orally twice a day. Can be given by intravenous drip. It should not be used simultaneously with tea-type drugs.

2. Erythromycin: Oral administration: 0.25g-0.5g 3-4 times a day, for 7-10 days.

3. Oxytetracycline 250 mg, 4 times a day, for 7 consecutive days.

4. Norfloxacin 200 mg, 3 times a day, for 14 days.

5. Ofloxacin: Oral administration: 200mg-300mg, twice a day for 7-14 days. Ofloxacin injection can also be used for intravenous drip, but the drip rate should not be too fast.

Traditional Chinese medicine is also very effective in treating urethritis. The more commonly used Chinese medicine secret recipes for treating urethritis are:

1. Use 30 grams each of Chinese yam and sophora flavescens, 20 grams each of phellodendron amurense and Kochia scoparia. Take one dose daily, decoct in water and use for external washing.

2. Take 50 grams of red beans and 50 grams of corn silk. Cook the soup and drink it once a day for 20 days.

3. Use 10 grams of light bamboo leaves, 50 grams of fresh reed roots, and 10 grams of wild chrysanthemum. Decoction in water, 20 days as one course of treatment.

4. Take 10 grams each of Amaranth seeds or roots and raw licorice. Decoction in water.

5. Use 10 grams of Coptis chinensis, 30 grams each of Oldenlandia diffusa and Portulaca oleracea, 15 grams each of Smilax glabra, Sophora flavescens, Dictamni, Dianthus superbus, Dianthus radix, Acorus gramineus, and Cyathula officinalis, and 6 grams each of Akebia and Licorice. Take 1 dose daily, decocted in water and taken in 2 doses.
