If objective laboratory tests are used, there is no significant difference between the two groups. However, if assessed at home using a self-assessment scale, pregnant mothers in the second trimester perform worse in memory and cognitive abilities.

The researchers speculate that this may be because the differences between pregnant women and normal people are not great enough to be detected by machine tests. In other words, the symptoms of pregnant women themselves, such as emotional anxiety or expectation of others' concern, are not really brain problems.
