What are the symptoms of an incomplete abortion?

Many women will go to the hospital for curettage after abortion, which proves that the abortion was not done cleanly. Some women will find abdominal pain and bleeding for a long time after abortion. Patients can also find that the bleeding is not clean when they go to the hospital for examination. Therefore, it is necessary to observe the symptoms of the body after abortion and go to the hospital for medical treatment in time if there are any abnormalities. So what are the symptoms of incomplete abortion? How do doctors diagnose whether the abortion is clean?

Symptoms of incomplete abortion:

1. Early symptoms of incomplete abortion: Early incomplete abortion can cause lower abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, aversion to greasy food, and persistent vaginal bleeding.

2. Late symptoms of incomplete abortion: In the late stage of incomplete abortion, there will be fever, heavy vaginal bleeding, etc. At this time, you should consider whether there is an infection in the uterus, because the blood from medical abortion is a good environment for the growth of bacteria. If the incomplete medical abortion is serious, the uterus will be tender during the gynecological examination, accompanied by symptoms such as fever.

The sign of clean flow of people:

(1) The rotation of the straw is limited, and the straw is close to the uterine wall, causing a tight feeling.

(2) The uterine cavity shrinks by 1.5 to 2.0 cm.

(3) When the tube is taken out, only a small amount of bloody foam is present.

(4) The uterine wall changes from rough to smooth.

(5) Muscle sounds can be heard during curettage.

After the uterine cavity is completely aspirated, check whether there is active bleeding at the cervical opening, and wipe the vagina with gauze. If an intrauterine contraceptive device needs to be placed at the same time, the routine operation can be followed. Check whether the embryos and villi in the aspirated material are intact, and measure the amount of bleeding:

(1) Filter the aspirate and examine the embryos and villi. If any abnormalities are found, such as the absence of villi or vesicular structures in the aspirate, the specimen should be sent for pathological examination. Measure the amount of bleeding.

(2) For those with advanced gestational age, the fetal head, trunk, and limbs should be examined.

Check the uterine contraction. If vaginal bleeding persists after the operation, the cause needs to be identified. Uterine contractions can be strengthened with uterotonics. At the same time, check for any reproductive tract damage. Once it is confirmed that there are no abnormalities during the operation, the surgical instruments can be removed and the patient can be helped to rest in the observation room.

What are the symptoms of an incomplete abortion? Abortion surgery usually uses an instrument to suck out the gestational sac in the uterus. Excessive suction can damage the uterine wall, but incomplete suction can also cause more serious damage and require a second operation. Therefore, it is best to go to a regular hospital for an abortion and undergo an examination before the operation. Treatment should be carried out only if the surgical criteria are met. After the operation, symptoms of bleeding and abdominal pain should be observed, and another examination should be performed if any abnormalities are found.
