What should I do if I have cervicitis?

Nowadays, many women are troubled by the question "What to do if you have cervicitis?" Being a woman should have the most tiring and difficult job in the world. Not only do they have to go to work, but they also have to take care of their families. Strong life and work pressures are eroding modern women. However, these external pains have not become women's weaknesses. What gives women the most headaches are those gynecological diseases that cannot be cured. Today, let us learn about cervicitis!

Cervicitis is a common disease in women of childbearing age, which can be divided into acute and chronic cervicitis. The infection is mostly caused by injury to the cervix during childbirth, abortion or surgery, which allows pathogens to invade. In addition, it is also related to frequent sexual life, physical or chemical stimulation, endometritis, and vaginitis. Chronic cervicitis is more common clinically, and there are often no manifestations of acute inflammatory processes. Chronic cervicitis and cervical cancer

There is a certain relationship between the disease and cervical cancer. According to research, the incidence rate of cervical cancer in women with cervical erosion is 0.75%, which is significantly higher than that in women without cervical erosion. Therefore, active treatment of cervicitis is of great significance in preventing the occurrence of cervical cancer.

[Clinical manifestations]

The main symptom is increased vaginal discharge. In acute cervicitis, the leucorrhea is purulent, accompanied by pain in the lower abdomen and lumbosacral area, or bladder irritation symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and pain when urinating. In chronic cervicitis, the leucorrhea is milky white and mucous, or light yellow and purulent; in severe cervical erosion or cervical polyps, the leucorrhea may be bloody or there may be bleeding after sexual intercourse. In mild cases, there may be no systemic symptoms. When the inflammation spreads along the uterosacral ligament to the pelvic cavity, there may be pain in the lumbar region, a feeling of heaviness in the lower abdomen, and dysmenorrhea, which worsens during bowel movements and sexual intercourse. In addition, sticky and purulent leucorrhea is not conducive to the passage of sperm and can also cause infertility.

[diagnosis]

1. Typical clinical manifestations.

2. Gynecological examination: Acute inflammation may cause cervical congestion, edema, or erosion, with purulent secretions discharged from the cervical canal, and there may be pain when the cervix is touched. Chronic cervicitis can be seen with varying degrees of erosion, hypertrophy, polyps, glandular cysts, and ectropion of the cervix, or purulent secretions at the cervical opening, and the cervix is hard on palpation. If it is cervical erosion or polyp, there may be contact bleeding.

3. Cervical smear shows Pap grade II.

4. For patients with more serious conditions, a cervical biopsy can be performed to confirm the diagnosis.

5. It is difficult to distinguish cervical erosion or polyps from early cervical cancer. The latter has hard, brittle tissue and is prone to bleeding. It is necessary to rely on cervical scraping to find cancer cells, and to perform colposcopy and cervical tissue biopsy for differentiation when necessary.

After understanding the above, I believe that most women already know what to do if they have cervicitis. However, for our own health, it is best not to allow the disease to occur so that we will not have the problem of dealing with it. After understanding the above, I hope that female compatriots can take better care of their bodies. The body is the capital of our revolution. If you don't even cherish your own body, then who will cherish you more? I wish all women can be healthy in both body and mind!
