Causes of breast pain in girls

Generally speaking, girls develop earlier than boys, so after girls enter puberty, breast development, menstruation, etc. will follow the changes in their bodies. When a girl has breast pain during development, the mother plays a key role. Not only should she tell the girl why this happens, but she should also provide positive guidance and not let the girl have negative emotions. Next, let’s look at the reasons why girls experience breast pain during development, so that we won’t be panicked when we encounter it in the future.

Although people are accustomed to regarding menarche as an important sign that girls have entered puberty, the first secondary sexual characteristic that develops and appears in girls is the breast, which begins to develop between the ages of 8 and 12. Initially, the mammary glands that make up the breasts and the surrounding protective fat tissue form a button-like bulge in the breasts and the surrounding areola (breast bud stage). After that, the nipples begin to grow larger, the areola gradually expands, and the color of the breasts and areola gradually deepens. At around 14 to 15 years old, breast development becomes more obvious and the breasts become noticeably raised. At the age of 16 to 17, the breasts are full, with clear lines, slightly sunken areola, and large and protruding nipples. At around the age of 18 to 20, the size and shape of the breasts are that of an adult woman (breast stage). However, the girl's breasts cannot secrete milk at this time, and it will take until she gives birth.

Girls' breast development usually begins when their nipples start to grow, around the age of 9 to 10 years old.

Initially, it is breast hyperplasia, forming a breast nucleus, which feels like a nodule or a small lump and is painful when pressed.

Between the ages of 12 and 13, the mammary ducts and subcutaneous fat increase, the breasts become gradually more bulging and elastic, and the color of the areola and nipples becomes darker. The mature breast is hemispherical in shape and is located between the 3rd to 6th ribs.

When girls reach the age of 16 to 18, their chest cavity and breasts are almost mature. Use a soft tape measure to measure from the upper bottom of the breast through the nipple to the lower bottom of the breast. If the upper and lower distance is greater than 16cm, they should wear a bra.

Stage I of breast development: Before puberty, breasts have not yet developed.

Stage II of breast development: In the early stages of breast development, the breast bud under the nipple begins to grow, and the breast becomes a distinct dome-shaped bulge during the development process.

Stage III of breast development: The breasts become rounder but still small.

Stage IV of breast development: The breasts grow rapidly and the nipples and areola protrude forward, shaped like small balls.

Stage V of breast development: Normal breasts are formed, and the small balls of the nipple and areola merge into the round shape of the breast.

Breast pain during development in girls is something that every adolescent girl will experience, so there is no need to feel anxious about it, but we will find that many girls feel shy when they begin to develop breasts. At this time, the mother should provide some guidance. Of course, girls should not wear tight clothes during their development. Wearing loose or large clothes is also better for their development. Because more attention should be paid to diet during adolescence, this can promote good breast development.
