Why is my period delayed for a month?

Why is my period delayed for a month?

For normal women, their menstruation will be delayed several times a year, but a delay of about seven days is normal. If it exceeds seven to ten days, I would suggest that our friends go to a regular hospital for a series of examinations in time. Everyone has their own special reasons. I can’t say specifically what the reasons are here, but there are the following possible factors.

Normal women will have menstruation once a month. This is a normal physiological phenomenon after female puberty and a sign of female maturity. Normal menstruation will come regularly as scheduled. But many women will experience irregular menstruation, so what is the reason for menstruation being delayed for one month?

1. Causes

1. Pregnancy

After the menstruation is delayed for 10 days, you can go to the hospital for a urine pregnancy test. If the result is positive, you are very likely pregnant. Pregnancy may also have other symptoms, such as chills, dizziness, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, etc.

2. Side effects of medication

Long-term use of contraceptives can cause endocrine disorders and delay menstruation. Newer generation gastrokinetic drugs may also cause this.

3. Caused by surgery

For example, intrauterine surgery may cause cervical adhesions, which may lead to menstrual blood stasis and delay menstruation.

4. Others

Psychological factors such as mental tension, stress, environmental changes, etc. can cause delayed menstruation.

2. Inspection

It is normal for menstruation to be delayed by about a week. If you have sex, use condoms for contraception, and the condoms do not break or leak fluid, the possibility of pregnancy is low. The self-test rate of early pregnancy test strips is also low. It is recommended that you observe closely. If your menstruation is delayed for about 10 days, you can go to the hospital for a blood HCG test to confirm whether you are pregnant.

If women experience delayed menstruation, early menstruation, or no menstruation, they must go to the hospital for examination and treatment as soon as possible to identify the cause and receive targeted treatment. Long-term absence of menstruation may lead to infertility in severe cases.

Normal women have a menstrual period every month, but sometimes it may be delayed or advanced. These phenomena are normal, as they may be caused by excessive stress, or adverse symptoms due to factors such as immunity and endocrine system. For simple reasons, we need to take care of ourselves, but for specific problems, we need to analyze them specifically and suggest that you go to the hospital in time.
