What are the symptoms of a bacterial vaginal infection?

Summer is the most humid season of the year. When summer comes, various bacteria multiply vigorously. Many female friends do not pay attention to the hygiene of their private parts and are prone to vaginal infections caused by bacteria, also known as nonspecific vaginitis. This seemingly minor problem can sometimes be very difficult to treat. Below I will introduce to you some of its symptoms, causes and other related knowledge.

1. Symptoms of bacterial vaginosis:

1. Abnormal leucorrhea: Leucorrhea is a sticky white liquid that flows out of a woman's vagina. Once a woman suffers from bacterial vaginosis, the amount of leucorrhea will increase and there will be an odor.

2. Increased vaginal discharge: The characteristics of female vaginal discharge are special signals representing the health status of the female reproductive system. Under normal circumstances, the shape and amount of vaginal discharge vary at different times of the menstrual cycle.

3. Vulvar itching and burning sensation: Many female patients complain of mild vulvar itching or burning sensation.

2. Signs of bacterial vaginosis: Examination shows that the leucorrhea is uniform, large in amount, thin, and there is no inflammatory manifestation such as redness, swelling or congestion of the vaginal mucosa, and there is no Trichomonas, Candida or gonococcal infection.

What are the complications of bacterial vaginosis?

1. Infertility and miscarriage: The incidence of fallopian tube infertility is increased in BV patients. In assisted reproductive treatment, the embryo cultivation rate is similar between BV patients and non-BV patients, but the early pregnancy miscarriage rate is higher in BV patients than in non-BV patients.

2. Pelvic inflammatory disease: The flora commonly isolated from the upper genital tract secretions of women with pelvic inflammatory disease are similar to those of BV, including Bacteroides, Streptococcus, Gardnerella vaginalis, and Mycoplasma hominis. The incidence of pelvic inflammatory disease patients complicated with BV was 61.8%.

3. Post-gynecological surgical infection: in women who undergo surgery to terminate pregnancy. The incidence of pelvic inflammatory disease in women with pregnancy complicated by BV is 3.7 times that of women without BV.

The above is the knowledge about bacterial vaginosis. Although it will not cause abnormalities in women's menstrual cycle, it may induce other gynecological diseases, so female friends should be especially careful. The editor here recommends that if you find that you have bacterial vaginosis, you should go to a regular hospital for examination as soon as possible, and receive targeted treatment to get rid of the disease as soon as possible.
