What are the symptoms of pedunculated submucosal fibroids?

Many women will find that their menstrual periods have increased and they experience pain during menstruation. Many of them do not pay attention to it. Some women think it is just normal menstrual pain. However, if this continues for a long time, women need to pay attention to their bodies. Such a phenomenon may be a pedunculated submucosal fibroid, which is commonly known as uterine fibroids. Therefore, it is important for us to understand the symptoms of uterine fibroids and know how to prevent and treat them.

Uterine fibroids are a type of gynecological tumor. But it did not happen without any signals. If you experience the following symptoms, you must be alert to the occurrence of uterine fibroids.

(1) Increased menstruation

It often occurs in submucosal and intramural fibroids, manifested as menorrhagia, prolonged menstruation or irregular vaginal bleeding.

(ii) Lower abdominal mass

When the subserosal or intramural fibroids grow beyond the pelvic cavity, patients can usually feel the mass themselves and go to the hospital for treatment, which may be accompanied by a feeling of falling.

(III) Compression symptoms

If fibroids located in the lower part of the uterus and cervix become lodged in the pelvic cavity, they can compress pelvic tissues and nerves, causing lower abdominal pain and lower back pain.

4. Pain

It is relatively rare. In addition to the pain caused by compression of the pelvic nerves, pedunculated submucosal fibroids cause uterine contractions in the uterine cavity and produce pain. When the fibroids block the cervical canal and hinder the outflow of menstrual blood, it can cause dysmenorrhea. When the pedicle of a pedunculated subserosal fibroid is twisted or when uterine fibroids undergo red degeneration or become infected during pregnancy, it can cause more severe abdominal pain.

TCM classification of uterine fibroids

Uterine fibroids are not easy to detect clinically. Most of them have no special symptoms and can usually only be found during pelvic examination. The tumor usually does not exceed the size of the uterine body in the third trimester of pregnancy. Clinically divided into:

(1) Qi stagnation and blood stasis type: Symptoms include premature menstruation or amenorrhea, prolonged menstruation, continuous spotting, heavy bleeding, dysmenorrhea, increased leucorrhea, premenstrual breast or lower abdominal distension and pain, chest and flank discomfort, depression, and petechiae on the tongue.

(2) Yin deficiency and liver hyperactivity type: Symptoms include heavy menstrual flow, prolonged menstruation, red menstrual blood with blood clots, dizziness, palpitations, irritability, insomnia, back pain and yellow urine.

(3) Qi and blood deficiency type: heavy menstrual flow, prolonged menstrual period, pale tongue, fatigue, sallow or pale complexion, dizziness, palpitations, and loose stools.

(4) Liver depression and Qi stagnation type: irregular menstruation, prolonged bleeding, pain in the chest, ribs and lower abdomen, dizziness, headache, depression, irritability, insomnia and dreaminess, and poor digestion.

Finally, the editor has compiled some care methods for everyone. Patients with uterine fibroids should eat more vegetables and fruits and less spicy foods in their daily diet. The vulva should be kept clean and dry, and underwear should be loose. If there is too much vaginal discharge, you should remember to flush the vulva at any time. Prevent excessive fatigue and pay special attention to rest during menstruation. If your menstrual flow is heavy, eat more iron-rich foods.
