Does my mother usually have vaginal discharge before her period?

Leucorrhea is the secretion from the vagina and cervix of female friends. It has a lubricating effect on the vagina of female friends, also plays an important role in sexual life, and is also an important indicator for judging some gynecological diseases. Generally speaking, women secrete very little leucorrhea, but there are times when the amount increases, such as during ovulation. So, some female friends will ask, will there be leucorrhea before the menstrual period comes?

Generally, 24-48 hours before menstruation, there is a little more leucorrhea (just more than the dry period after ovulation), which is between clear mucus and white, until menstrual blood comes.

The increase in leucorrhea before menstruation is due to the gradual expansion of the cervical opening during menstruation. The secretory function of the columnar epithelial cells in the cervical canal is relatively strong, the amount of mucus increases, and it mixes with vaginal secretions and flows out.

The amount of leucorrhea increases three or four days before menstruation, with no odor or discomfort, and this happens every month. Since it has become a pattern, it is normal and it is just an individual difference.

Increased vaginal discharge indicates ovulation, and it is normal as long as the vaginal discharge does not have any other colors.

If it itches, you must pay attention to cleanliness. Wash the vulva with warm water every day. Do not use lotion. Washing with lotion will cause acid-base imbalance and make it easier for bacteria to grow.

Also, change your underwear frequently, every day. Wear cotton underwear, not polyester, as cotton is breathable.

Use sanitary pads less often, as they are not breathable and can easily breed bacteria.

Virgins may also get vaginitis, but it is more common in married women, so you must pay attention to maintenance.

It is normal to have delayed menstruation. Many external factors may cause irregular menstruation. For example, climate, mood and so on.

Normal leucorrhea should be milky white or colorless and transparent, with a slightly fishy smell or no smell; its secretion amount and texture are affected by the levels of estrogen and progesterone in the body. The vagina of a normal person is acidic and generally not easy to get infected. However, because the vagina is open to the outside environment, it is easy to get infected when the body's resistance is low or when the sexual life is unclean and hygiene is not paid attention to. Therefore, if female friends find that their vaginal discharge increases for no reason, or is accompanied by changes in color, texture, or odor, they should be vigilant and go to the hospital for a detailed gynecological examination and routine secretion examination to make a clear diagnosis, and then follow the doctor's advice to take medication according to the symptoms and cause.

Female friends will have leucorrhea before their period comes, and the amount will be more than before. The amount, color, and smell of leucorrhea are the basis for judging some gynecological diseases. If there is any abnormality in leucorrhea, you should seek medical attention in time. In daily life, you should also maintain vaginal hygiene to avoid vaginal infections.
