What causes women to have a swollen belly?

Women's abdominal or stomach pain is usually directly related to gynecological diseases. There are many possible factors and the situation is quite complicated. Once a woman's belly swells, it is best to pay attention to it, understand the possible causes, and don't be too nervous. Correct treatment will not cause major harm. So, what is the reason for women's bloated belly? Let's take a closer look below.

Cervicitis is an inflammation mostly caused by puerperal infection or abortion infection, and is more common in women of childbearing age. The clinical manifestations are increased leucorrhea, which is milky white and mucous, and sometimes yellow. If it is cervicitis, when the inflammation spreads to the pelvic cavity, it will cause abdominal distension, lumbar pain and dysmenorrhea.

Cervicitis is a common disease among women of childbearing age, and clinically there are two types: acute and chronic. Acute cervicitis often coexists with acute endometritis or acute vaginitis, but chronic cervicitis is more common.

The most common symptom of acute cervicitis is increased vaginal discharge, which is sometimes even the only symptom. The leucorrhea is purulent or mixed with blood, and is usually accompanied by back pain and lower abdominal pain. Sometimes the vulva is irritated by inflammatory secretions and causes itching, burning sensation, and abnormal urination symptoms such as frequent urination and urgency. A small number of patients experience symptoms such as pain and fever during sexual intercourse.

The main symptoms of chronic cervicitis: increased leucorrhea, which is milky white and mucous, sometimes yellow or pus-like, accompanied by polyp formation, bloody leucorrhea or bleeding after sexual intercourse. When the inflammation spreads along the uterosacral ligament to the pelvic cavity, there may be lumbar pain, lower abdominal distension and dysmenorrhea. These symptoms worsen before and after menstruation, bowel movements, and sexual intercourse. Sometimes it is accompanied by frequent urination, difficulty urinating, irregular menstruation and even infertility.

The above is an introduction to why women have a swollen belly. I hope it will be helpful for women to understand. Abdominal bloating in women is usually caused by chronic cervicitis, which is a relatively serious gynecological disease and may even affect normal fertility. It is best to go to a regular hospital for diagnosis and treatment in the early stage to prevent more serious consequences.
