Urethral mucosal prolapse: Urethral mucosal prolapse is eversion outside the urethral opening, which can occur in young and elderly women. Its symptoms are the same as those of urethral stoma or urethral caruncle. In mild cases, there is local tenderness and burning pain when sitting or urinating. In severe cases, urination may be difficult or even urinary retention may occur. In case of urethral mucosal prolapse, a tumor may block part or all of the urethral opening without involving surrounding tissues. The tumor is bright red at first, then gradually turns into bluish purple. If it cannot be reduced, mucosal necrosis may occur.
