A high percentage of neutrophils in pregnant women is a common occurrence when we check during pregnancy. This is a manifestation of inflammation. If the inflammation is severe, it will cause a high percentage of neutrophils in pregnant women. Then we must seek timely treatment and anti-inflammatory measures, otherwise it will cause more and greater harm and is not good for our health. Neutrophils are a type of white blood cells that have the function of phagocytosis and sterilization and are related to the body's defense and anti-infection process. An increase in the percentage of neutrophils means that the proportion of "neutrophils" in white blood cells has increased relatively. For example, when the white blood cell count increases, especially when accompanied by a significant increase in neutrophils, it usually indicates that the body has inflammatory symptoms, which are mostly manifestations of acute bacterial infection. Neutrophils are characterized by colorless or very light red cytoplasm with many diffusely distributed tiny (0.2-0.4 microns) light red or light purple granules in Wright-stained blood smears. The cell nucleus is rod-shaped or 2-5 lobed, with lobes connected by filaments. Neutrophils have chemotactic, phagocytic and bactericidal effects. Neutrophils originate from the bone marrow, have a lobed or rod-shaped nucleus, and their cytoplasm contains a large number of fine neutrophil granules that are neither alkalitropic nor acidophilic. Most of these particles are lysosomes, which contain abundant enzymes such as myeloperoxidase, lysozyme, alkaline phosphatase and acid hydrolase, and are related to the phagocytic and digestive functions of cells. The increase in neutrophil count is not very high, which may be caused by some mild cell infection and inflammation. If a pregnant woman has a rheumatic disease such as rheumatoid arthritis, her neutrophil count may also be high. Based on the current ratio of neutrophils to monocytes, the presence of serious diseases such as leukemia and sepsis can be ruled out. The decrease in the proportion of monocytes and lymphocytes is due to the decrease in proportion caused by the increase in neutrophils, not a decrease in their essential number. Generally speaking, it is normal for pregnant women to have a high absolute neutrophil count, because during pregnancy, especially when it comes to delivery, it can be 15-20 X109 (normal value 2.5-7.5). Suggestions: Generally, no special treatment is required. Rest more and continue to observe. Antibiotics, hormones and other anti-inflammatory drugs should be used with caution during pregnancy. A high neutrophil percentage in pregnant women will more or less affect the condition of the fetus during pregnancy. So if we find out that the neutrophil percentage in pregnant women is high, we must cooperate with our doctors to actively treat, improve and regulate our health. Only in this way can we have a healthy and safe pregnancy. |
