How long does it take to have a normal birth?

For many friends who give birth naturally, the damage to their physical vitality is not too great, and their body and various functions recover very quickly. Many female friends think that they can recover their bodies within a few days after giving birth and do not need to observe the confinement period? But people often overlook this issue. In fact, whether it is a caesarean section or a natural birth, confinement period is required. Specifically, let me introduce nursing to you.

1. Corrections during the confinement period

The confinement period for a normal delivery is 42 days, and the confinement period for a caesarean section is 56 days. During these 42 days, you should try to get more rest, take good care of your body, and live according to the habits of confinement.

Generally speaking, we all know that the most concerning thing for women during confinement is actually cleanliness, especially bathing and washing their hair. The specific situation should be determined according to individual circumstances. Everyone's coping method is different. But generally you need to wash your hair with ginger water, and it is best not to wash it too frequently. Avoid blow-drying after washing and dry it immediately. Generally speaking, it is enough to wash your hair twice a month. And body rubbing can be done every day.

2. Cleaning and care of vaginal delivery wounds

Cleaning: Women who give birth naturally have episiotomy wounds or lacerations, both of which need to be sutured.

In the hospital, nurses will flush with potassium permanganate twice a day, and it is also important to take care of yourself when you return home. Before discharge, the nurse will remind you to flush every day and once more after defecation. You can fill a mineral water bottle with warm water of suitable temperature, sit on the toilet, lift your legs and rinse downwards.

In the first few days, I needed my family's help to lift my legs, but later I could do it by myself and it became more convenient. If you keep flushing the wound every day, it will heal faster. Please note here that the water must be warm boiled water that has been cooled down. Do not use tap water to rinse the wound. The tap water contains bacteria which are not good for the wound.

Nursing: The location of the wound from a normal birth determines that it takes more time to recover, so new mothers should never wear plastic underwear just to restore their body shape. The tight plastic underwear is airtight and is even more detrimental to wound recovery.

In addition, it is recommended that new mothers breastfeed while lying down as much as possible during the confinement period, and not to practice breastfeeding while sitting too early. Doing so can easily cause tearing of the wound from natural birth, which will increase the pain of the new mother and slow down recovery.

3. Keep warm and avoid cold

Everyone knows that you must keep warm during the confinement period and never catch a cold.

During the confinement period, you must pay attention to your own health. Close doors and windows to prevent wind or cold. We should also pay more attention to it in our daily life. Eating some more nutritious food can have a good effect on the body's recovery during the confinement period.
