Six months pregnant with bloody vaginal discharge

Six months pregnant with bloody vaginal discharge

During pregnancy, any bleeding that occurs should be taken seriously. There are many reasons for bloody vaginal discharge during the sixth month of pregnancy. This is the middle of pregnancy, and any abnormal situation may have very serious consequences, especially if it is a threatened miscarriage. It is best to go to the hospital for a comprehensive examination. Let's take a look at the possible reasons for bloody vaginal discharge during pregnancy.

1. Cervical disease causes vaginal bleeding

Most women will have varying degrees of cervical disease after marriage. After pregnancy, as the pregnancy progresses, the level of progesterone in the pregnant woman's body continues to increase, causing the columnar epithelium of the cervix to move outward and the tissue to proliferate. The symptoms of cervical disease are significantly aggravated, and vaginal bleeding is prone to occur at this time; excessive sexual life, overeating of hot and irritating foods such as chocolate, peppers, longan, or hot pot can also aggravate bleeding symptoms. This type of bleeding is different from the bleeding caused by uterine contraction during spontaneous abortion, which causes the placenta to separate from the uterus. This type of bleeding does not directly affect the development of the fetus. As long as the bleeding is stopped in time, the pregnancy can still progress normally. However, if it is not treated in time, it will affect pregnancy and may eventually lead to miscarriage.

It is difficult for patients to differentiate between bleeding caused by cervical disease and bleeding caused by threatened abortion in terms of the amount, time and color of bleeding, so they should go to the hospital for examination in time. After vaginal dilation, the bleeding lesions on the cervix can be clearly seen. Treatment can be carried out from both systemic and local aspects, mainly focusing on stopping bleeding and controlling infection. At the same time, the fetus can also be preserved under the guidance of a doctor.

2. Threatened abortion causes vaginal bleeding

Threatened abortion can occur in the early or middle stages of pregnancy. Vaginal bleeding is a common danger sign during pregnancy, so it should be taken seriously. The amount of vaginal bleeding varies depending on the type of abortion. Most pregnant women experience paroxysmal pain in the lower abdomen. As the disease progresses, vaginal bleeding may gradually increase, and symptoms such as increased frequency and severity of abdominal pain, coldness in the abdomen, and sometimes inability to feel fetal movement may occur. If the amount of bleeding is heavy or the pain in the lower abdomen is frequent and severe, you should go to the hospital immediately regardless of day or night.

3. Hydatidiform mole causes vaginal bleeding

Vaginal bleeding in pregnant women with hydatidiform mole usually begins 6-8 weeks after menopause and is often intermittent and recurring. The blood is dark red or brown, or there may be a small amount of coffee-colored secretions. The amount of bleeding varies, generally starting from a small amount and gradually increasing, and there are blister-like substances in the blood. Before heavy vaginal bleeding, there is often persistent abdominal pain due to increased and larger intrauterine bleeding and vesicular material, which causes the uterus to expand rapidly.

4. Abnormal placenta causes vaginal bleeding

Placenta previa and placental abruption are both very dangerous complications in obstetrics. If the placenta falls off or separates from the endometrium, it will cause bleeding in the pregnant woman during the second trimester of pregnancy. If the placenta falls off, the fetus will not get oxygen and nutrition. At this time, the pregnant woman must take measures and seek medical attention as soon as possible, otherwise the pregnant woman will suffer from excessive blood loss, shock, and death.
