What to do if your period is delayed for 11 days

We all know that menstruation is a physiological cycle that occurs in some fertile female humans and chimpanzees and other hominins. And as women age, their menstruation becomes more regular. Some people's menstruation is not very regular, or it suddenly becomes irregular. What caused it? What should I do? Let me introduce it to you!

1. Go to the hospital for a check-up

2. If you are pregnant, you must be prepared to be a mother. For women of childbearing age who have had sexual life, when their menstruation is delayed, they often doubt whether it is menstruation abnormality or they are pregnant. This problem is a very common phenomenon in daily life. How to rule out pregnancy and how to determine whether it is a menstrual disease are the first issues that need to be clarified. First, determine whether you are pregnant. If your menstrual cycle has always been normal, with no signs of delay, and there are some signs of pregnancy, you should use an early pregnancy test strip to test your urine on the fifth day after your delayed period (or the fifth day calculated from the start of your period). If the test result is positive, you should have a gynecological pelvic examination. If the cervix changes to purple-blue, the uterus is full or enlarged, and there may be accompanying symptoms such as breast tenderness and nausea, you can be diagnosed with pregnancy. Of course, B-ultrasound can also quickly determine whether you are pregnant.

3. If you are not pregnant, check if you have any disease. Such as psychological factors such as mental tension, stress, environmental changes, and some diseases that affect endocrine system. Can cause delayed menstruation. For example: (1) Irregular living habits. According to research, when women are exposed to cold during menstruation, the blood vessels in the pelvis will contract excessively, which can cause oligomenorrhea or even amenorrhea. Therefore, women should have a regular daily life, avoid excessive fatigue, and especially keep away from cold and damp during menstruation. (2) Abnormal emotions: Long-term mental depression, sulking, or severe mental stimulation and psychological trauma can all lead to menstrual disorders or dysmenorrhea or amenorrhea. This is because menstruation is caused by the stimulation of the endometrium by hormones secreted by the ovaries, and the hormones secreted by the ovaries are controlled by the release of hormones from the pituitary gland and hypothalamus. Therefore, any abnormality in the function of the ovaries, pituitary gland, or hypothalamus will affect menstruation. (3) Excessive dieting: Expert studies have shown that girls need body fat to account for at least 17% of their body weight in order to have their first menstruation, and body fat must reach at least 22% of their body weight to maintain a normal menstrual cycle. Excessive dieting will cause a large amount of fat and protein in the body to be consumed due to insufficient energy intake, resulting in estrogen synthesis disorders and obvious estrogen deficiency, affecting menstruation, or even causing scanty menstruation or amenorrhea. Therefore, women who pursue a slim figure must not diet blindly. Expert tip: If menstruation is delayed only 1-2 times occasionally and there are no other accompanying symptoms, it does not fall into the category of menstrual disorders. When the interval between menstrual cycles is more than 35 days, it is called oligomenorrhea, and when menstruation stops for more than 3 menstrual cycles, it is called amenorrhea. The absence of ovulation after menopause can also lead to problems such as osteoporosis and endometrial hyperplasia, which must be taken seriously. You should go to the hospital immediately for a comprehensive examination.

Everyone should know the reasons for delayed menstruation! If you have a similar situation, analyze it against the above and see which situation you are in and then receive treatment. You should pay more attention to protecting your body in daily life. Try to exercise less during menstruation and avoid doing strenuous work. You should also keep warm and supplement more vitamins to enhance your immunity. Develop good living habits! You also need to maintain a good mood and have a sunny smile every day.
