What diseases affect female fertility?

Everyone knows that the most magical thing in the world is a woman's pregnancy, but there are many women who cannot have a baby for various reasons. It is very difficult for female friends to accept this. So we have to find out the cause before we can treat it. So what are the diseases that affect women’s fertility? Let me introduce it to you today.

Tubal infertility: Tubal infertility is when a woman is unable to have children due to abnormalities in the fallopian tubes. Conception is a complex process. It requires the sperm and egg to combine to form a fertilized egg, which then implants in the uterine cavity. In addition to having normal sperm, eggs and an appropriate intrauterine environment, allowing sperm and eggs to meet and be successfully transported to the uterine cavity is also an important step in the process of conception. This task is performed by the fallopian tubes. If there is inflammation in the fallopian tubes, causing blockage of the fallopian tubes and the inability of sperm to pass through to meet the egg, infertility is called tubal obstructive infertility. Congenital fallopian tube malformations can also lead to tubal obstruction infertility, but this is extremely rare.

Ovarian infertility: In addition to maintaining the coordination of the female reproductive endocrine system, the ovaries have two main functions in fertility: one is ovulation, and the other is the formation of a corpus luteum in early pregnancy to maintain the stability of the embryo. Two-thirds of the causes of infertility lie with women, and infertility caused by ovarian factors accounts for about 15%-25% of infertility. Ovarian infertility can be caused by a variety of factors, including local ovarian factors.

Uterine infertility: Uterine hypoplasia, also known as infantile uterus, refers to a uterus with normal structure and shape, but smaller size and relatively long cervix, and may be accompanied by dysmenorrhea, infrequent menstruation, or even primary or secondary amenorrhea. Uterine hypoplasia is often an important cause of infertility, and it has been reported that it accounts for about 16.2% of infertile patients. There are two common types of uterine hypoplasia in clinical practice: one is adolescent uterus, which is more common. It is mainly caused by insufficient endocrine influence, and the ratio of the length of the uterine cavity to the length of the cervical canal is about 1:1; the other is the infantile uterus, and the ratio of the length of the uterine cavity to the length of the cervical canal is about 1:2. Infantile uterus is often accompanied by ovarian hypoplasia, and this disease is more common in primary infertility. The effectiveness of diagnosis and treatment depends on the degree of uterine hypoplasia.

Immune infertility: refers to the patient's normal ovulation and reproductive tract function, no pathogenic factors are found, and the spouse's semen routine examination is within the normal range, but there is evidence of anti-fertility immunity; it is caused by autoimmunity or alloimmunity to reproductive system antigens. The etiology and pathogenesis of immune infertility are very complex and have not yet been fully understood. It is one of the difficult diseases in obstetrics and gynecology.

Vaginitis can cause female infertility: because the vagina is the container of semen, and vaginitis changes the internal environment of the vagina, thus affecting the normal function of sperm.

1. Fungal vaginitis causes female infertility. Fungal vaginitis is one of the common gynecological diseases, and its incidence rate is second only to Trichomonas vaginitis. About 80%-90% of it is caused by Candida albicans, and the main symptoms are severe itching of the vulva and excessive leucorrhea. There is a large amount of white tofu-like or curd-like leucorrhea on the vaginal wall, and the mucosa is red, swollen, congested or has red spots. Under the microscope, a large number of hyphae, spores and white blood cells can be seen. Candidal vaginitis destroys the normal internal environment of the vagina, causing white blood cells to phagocytose sperm in large quantities. In addition, Candida albicans has the effect of agglutinating sperm, reducing sperm motility and leading to infertility.

2. Trichomonas vaginitis causes female infertility. Trichomonas vaginitis is a common gynecological disease. Common symptoms are increased vaginal discharge, which can soak the underwear. The vaginal discharge is yellow-green pus-like, thin in texture, and has a special odor. It is often accompanied by a burning sensation in the vulva, as well as urinary tract symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and pain when urinating. The labia minora and vaginal opening are congested and edematous, and a large amount of yellow, purulent, foamy leucorrhea accumulates in the posterior vaginal fornix. A large number of migratory Trichomonas can be seen under a conventional microscope in leucorrhea. Trichomonas vaginalis has the function of phagocytizing sperm and is one of the causes of female infertility.

Through the above introduction, I believe everyone has a good understanding of the diseases that affect female fertility. As long as we find out the specific cause, we can prescribe the right medicine, which will be more beneficial to our health. We can provide good treatment as long as we can get it.
