Can you get pregnant with low thyroid?

For a woman, the greatest happiness in life is to give birth to a baby of her own, who has her own features and the gentle personality of her lover. However, some people's physical conditions are indeed not suitable for enduring the hardships of pregnancy. For example, women with hypothyroidism already have very fragile bodies, not to mention providing the necessary nutrients for the fetus.

So what exactly is hypothyroidism? What causes it? How many different types are there? What are the dangers if people with hypothyroidism become pregnant? This is probably what every woman with hypothyroidism is most concerned about.

Hypothyroidism is a group of systemic endocrine diseases caused by insufficient synthesis, secretion or biological effect of thyroid hormone TSH due to various reasons. It is referred to as hypothyroidism. According to the age of onset and pathophysiological changes, it can be clinically divided into three categories: cretinism, juvenile hypothyroidism, and adult hypothyroidism. Clinical hypothyroidism can be divided into severe and mild types. The former has obvious symptoms, involves a wide range of systems, and often presents as myxedema. The latter has milder or atypical symptoms.

The main manifestations include low basal metabolic rate symptoms: fatigue, slow movement, drowsiness, significant memory loss and inattention. Due to poor peripheral blood circulation and reduced energy production, there is abnormal fear of cold, no sweat and body temperature below normal. Mental dullness, drowsiness, decreased comprehension and memory. Vision, hearing, touch and smell are all dull, accompanied by tinnitus and dizziness. It is best not to get pregnant if you have hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism can be inherited. Hypothyroidism in pregnant women may affect the intellectual development of the child. Mild cases will not affect pregnancy, but the miscarriage or stillbirth rate is high. When the patient has hypothyroidism, the menstruation is often excessive and too frequent. If not treated, it can also lead to infertility. If pregnancy has already occurred, the miscarriage rate and perinatal mortality rate of the fetus are very high.

From the above introduction, we can understand that there are many causes of hypothyroidism, which can be divided into three types. Pregnancy with hypothyroidism is likely to result in fetal death. Women who understand this knowledge will not be obsessed with having children. After all, a mother who cannot provide a healthy living environment for her child or even makes her child suffer is selfish.
