The amount of vaginal discharge is increasing. Is it because my period is coming soon?

If there is a lot of secretions, ladies don't need to be too anxious. Sometimes the increase of leucorrhea is normal, but sometimes it may be that the body has some kind of disease. It is true that there is a lot of secretions before menstruation, but if there is a lot of secretions, it does not mean that the menstrual period is coming. The increase of leucorrhea may be caused by other reasons.

1. Before the menstrual period, the secretions will indeed be more and thicker. At this time, the cervical opening will gradually expand and the amount of secretions will increase. This is a normal situation and does not require treatment. After the menstrual period is over, the secretions will gradually become less.

2. There will be more vaginal discharge after pregnancy. This is because there is a lot of estrogen in the body, which causes great changes in the body, and the secretions will gradually increase. It is normal to have more vaginal discharge during pregnancy, and no treatment is required, but you should change your underwear frequently to avoid gynecological diseases.

3. After suffering from gynecological diseases, there will be more secretions, such as candidal vaginitis, candidal vaginitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, adnexitis, etc. After suffering from these diseases, not only the amount of secretions will increase, but also the secretions will have a strong odor, and the color of leucorrhea will also change to a certain extent. Because the leucorrhea caused by the disease is excessive, it is necessary to treat it to avoid causing some other human diseases.

Generally, the secretions are slightly more in the 24-48 hours before menstruation, ranging from transparent mucus to milky white, until menstrual blood comes. The increase in leucorrhea before menstruation is because the cervical opening gradually expands during the menstrual period, the metabolism of the columnar squamous epithelial cells in the cervical canal is more active, the amount of mucus increases, and it is discharged together with female secretions. Under normal circumstances, during ovulation, due to the increase in the level of female hormones, the leucorrhea will be more, and it will be flocculent or egg white-like. The significant decrease in leucorrhea during ovulation is mostly due to the impact on the ovaries, which is caused by the decrease in estrogen metabolism.

Therefore, the increase in vaginal discharge may be due to the approaching menstrual period. The increase in secretions is a reminder that you can prepare for the arrival of your period in advance.

Warm reminder: When women have a lot of secretions, they must pay attention to changing their underwear frequently every day and cleaning their lower body. When the amount of vaginal discharge increases, the private parts become moist, which is very easy to produce bacteria. Women may experience symptoms such as vaginal itching. Therefore, they must keep their lower body and underwear clean to effectively prevent gynecological diseases.
