We all know that embryos are generally divided into four levels: primary, secondary, tertiary, and quaternary. The geometric progression of embryos in different time ranges is different. Generally, the maturity of the placenta corresponds to the gestational age. The more perfect the embryo is, the better it is. It only needs to have a certain degree of placental maturity according to your stage of pregnancy, because the embryo is important in supplying nutrients to the fetus. An embryo that matures too early means that the placenta ages quickly, which can easily lead to insufficient oxygen supply to the fetus and even cause delayed growth and language development of the fetus. 1. Will a grade 3 placenta at 37 weeks be premature? The 37th week of pregnancy has entered full-term pregnancy. At this time, there is a possibility of delivery at any time. B-ultrasound should be done to assess the size of the fetus, the amniotic fluid, the umbilical cord and the condition of the embryo. When assessing the condition of the embryo, attention should be paid to the location and maturity of the embryo. At 37 weeks of pregnancy, if the placenta is found to be grade 3 in maturity, there is no need to worry, and it does not mean that the baby will be born early, because the maturity of the placenta is mainly assessed based on the notches on the surface of the embryo and the calcifications and blood inside the embryo. When the placenta is mature, it only means that the embryo may be fragile. However, placental maturity is a subjective indicator, which may be biased in some cases. Even if there is malformation, it does not necessarily affect the fetus. If the fetal heart rate monitoring is normal and there are no other abnormalities, you can continue to wait until about 40 weeks of pregnancy before giving birth. 2. What are the criteria for distinguishing placental aging? 1. Check whether the placenta grade exceeds the pregnancy month. Generally speaking, when pregnant women are close to full term, the placenta maturity will be level 2 or 3, which is normal. However, if the placenta reaches level 2 maturity around 20 weeks of pregnancy, or level 3 maturity around 35 weeks of pregnancy, it means that the placenta function is reduced. To determine whether the function of a placenta is reduced, which is often called "placental aging", the key is to see whether the growth and maturity of the embryo exceeds the gestational month. 2. Use B-ultrasound to check calcification points. Doctors can use B-ultrasound to determine the maturity of the placenta, mainly based on the calcification points on the embryo. For example, if the calcification points are scattered, they will be diagnosed as grade 2, and if the calcification points are connected, they will be diagnosed as grade 3. But this is somewhat affected by subjective factors. Maybe one doctor sees it as level 3, while another doctor may only see it as level 2. |
