Is it normal to have a strong odor during ovulation?

The strong odor during ovulation should refer to the leucorrhea with odor. When the female secretion secretions undergo changes in quantity, color, properties, smell, etc., and at the same time there are symptoms such as low back pain, abdominal pain, vulvar itching, etc., it means that the leucorrhea is abnormal. It is likely that there is inflammation in the male reproductive organs or urogenital system. Abnormal secretions are more common in the following conditions.

1. Non-inflammatory secretions

(1) The secretion is sticky and large in volume, which is common after taking estrogen drugs.

(2) Women of childbearing age have too little secretion, which makes it impossible to meet their own physiological needs. Women often feel dryness and discomfort in the vulva. This is often caused by ovarian dysfunction and insufficient estrogen secretion, and is also a psychological distortion.

(3) Mental factors stimulate the private parts, vagina and cervix to secrete more, which is colorless and transparent.

(4) The secretion is milky white and watery. It may occur in patients with pelvic tumors, retroflexed uterus, and chronic organic diseases (heart failure, diabetes, anemia, tuberculosis, etc.). It is caused by pelvic and uterine hematoma and increased female secretions.

2. Inflammatory secretions

(1) The discharge is milky white or light yellow, pus-like, large in amount, has a peculiar smell, and is often accompanied by abdominal pain. It is usually caused by introverted cervicitis or endocervicitis.

(2) Leucorrhea is yellow or light green, rare and sticky, or like rice water, grayish white, and has a peculiar smell. Most of the time, it is caused by vaginal fungi.

(3) The discharge from gonorrhea is yellow and pus-like.

(4) The secretions produced by amoeba infection are mostly bloody plasma or yellowish viscous secretions, sometimes mixed with fine rotten meat-like substances (which look like yellowish soybean paste soup).

(5) The secretion is white and yellow in color. Most of the time, it is thick, but sometimes it can be thinner. It is typically milky white, like tofu dregs, or in the form of milky white lumps or small pieces like lotion. Most of the time, it is caused by fungal infection.

(6) If there is blood in the secretions, it is often seen in cervical cysts, adverse reactions caused by contraceptive rings, submucosal uterine fibroids, moderate to severe chronic cervicitis, etc.

(7) In cases of cervical adenocarcinoma, the tumor stimulates the bilateral fallopian tube epithelial cells to exude fluid and cause necrosis of the diseased tissue. The secretions are intermittent, clear, bright yellow liquid, which is discharged from the vagina in waves and continuously.

(8) When women suffer from cervical cancer, vaginal cancer, uterine cancer and other symptoms, the "secretions" they metabolize are mostly manifested as follows: the secretions are of low volume, rice-washing water-like, turbid and have a foul odor, sometimes mixed with blood and light pink in color, and in large quantities.

If a woman finds that the color, smell, amount, and appearance of her secretions have changed abnormally, she should go to the hospital to see a gynecologist immediately for examination, diagnosis, and treatment, because careful observation of changes in secretions can help diagnose many related gynecological diseases, such as cervical erosion, vaginitis, cervical cysts, endometrial cancer, etc.
