Why does the vagina have a foul odor?

Under normal circumstances, a woman's private parts are fresh and odorless. However, some women often notice a strong odor in their private parts. Even daily cleaning and changing of underwear cannot remove the odor. So what is the reason for the foul odor in the vagina? How to solve it? Let's take a closer look.

1. Suffering from bacterial infection of vaginal disease

Symptom analysis: Bacterial infection of the vagina can cause women to have excessive vaginal discharge and emit a foul odor from their private parts. It is a pathological condition caused by the destruction of the natural environment of the female vagina and changes in pH; it is often not called vaginitis because the vaginal mucosa does not show inflammatory sensations.

Solution: Avoid repeated vaginal cleaning, abuse of therapeutic drugs, etc.; adult women should clean the vagina immediately after sexual intercourse; it is best not to have sex before the bacterial infection of the vagina is cured.

2. Odor during menstruation

Symptom analysis: Menstrual period often produces bad odor, mainly because it is mixed with blood, uterine wall and sebaceous gland secretions and sweat, so a more obvious odor is produced.

Solution: The best way is to improve your own hygiene first, do some cleaning every day; choose cotton underwear; and change sanitary napkins as often as possible, each time not exceeding 4 hours.

3. Trichomonas vaginitis

Symptom analysis: The private parts odor caused by vaginitis may have three kinds of odors. If it develops into a foul odor, it is likely to be a symptom of malignant tumors and you should seek medical examination and treatment in time.

(1) Fishy smell: Some cases of vaginitis are caused by Haemophilus influenzae in the vagina, and the secretions have a unique fishy smell. In addition, it is accompanied by symptoms such as vaginal burning, pain, itching, and vulva moisture.

(2) Fishy smell: In some cases of vaginitis caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection, Candida infection or intravaginal Haemophilus infection, the secretions often have a fishy smell.

(3) Foul odor: Foul odor in secretions is often caused by serious infection or tumor in the reproductive system. Such as malignant tumors of the reproductive system, relatively severe endometritis, and moderate to severe cervical erosion. Especially for middle-aged women, if there is a foul-smelling discharge and the color is bright red, it is often a sign of malignant tumor.
