Six female hormones: low testosterone

Six female hormones: low testosterone

The body has many hormones, and different hormones control different physiological activities. During routine physical examinations or pregnancy tests, sex hormone tests are very necessary, because they can detect whether there are abnormalities in related parts of the body and provide timely diagnosis and treatment. So how to treat low testosterone in female hormone tests?

How to treat low testosterone in six female hormones

1. Diet therapy: Low testosterone may mean that a woman’s body lacks essential trace elements. In this case, women can eat more protein foods, iron-rich foods and foods rich in arginine. Through this diet therapy, they can effectively regulate their bodies and alleviate the condition of low testosterone.

2. Drug treatment: In addition to diet therapy, you can also use drugs to adjust the symptoms of low testosterone in women, which is also a common way to treat low testosterone. Of course, the drugs for treating low testosterone are all hormones, which must be taken properly under the guidance of a doctor. You must never take the medicine by yourself.

Testosterone (T) is the main male hormone in the human body, which is mainly secreted by the adrenal glands and ovaries. Testosterone is mainly converted from androstenedione secreted by the uterus, ovaries and kidneys. 50% of androstenedione comes from the uterus and ovaries, and 50% comes from the adrenal glands. Before menopause, blood testosterone is a marker of the source of androgen in the ovaries; after menopause, the adrenal glands are the main site of androgen production. Testosterone levels are significantly reduced in women during the menopausal period and after menopause. Low levels of testosterone may be a potential risk factor for metabolic syndrome (including obesity, insulin resistance, impaired glucose tolerance or diabetes, hyperglargineuria, and glucose disorders characterized by high triglycerides and low-density lipoprotein). Those with low testosterone levels can be given testosterone replacement therapy, which can improve metabolic syndrome and should be used under the guidance of a clinician.

Reasons for low testosterone in women

There are several reasons why women have low testosterone:

First, it may be caused by women's weaker physical fitness, because the normal production of testosterone in the body requires certain substances as a basis, such as cholesterol, essential vitamins and essential carbohydrates. If the substances are lacking, the testosterone content in the body will be relatively reduced.

Second, there may be problems in the testosterone conversion and regulation process. Testosterone conversion requires high-precision control of the hypothalamus-pituitary-gonadal axis to ensure that the testosterone level is neither too high nor too low. If there is a problem with the axis, it will cause a decrease in testosterone content.

Third, it may be that testosterone is eliminated too much in the body, that is, testosterone is eliminated by organs such as the liver, and then excreted from the body through the kidneys, causing testosterone to be converted into less than the body's secretion amount, and it can also cause a decrease in the testosterone content in the blood.

Relatively speaking, if a woman has low testosterone, it may be due to the influence of some female hormones on the uterine wall. If this is the case, there is no need to worry too much. You can go to a local regular hospital for a regular blood test or a comprehensive B-ultrasound examination, and everything can be checked out.
